Do you wish you could get more sleep? Does it seem like the to-do list never ends? Don’t miss these five fantastic (and super easy) ways to make a plan that will help you get more sleep...tonight!

This is a sponsored post. All opinions are mine.

I get up early, get myself ready for the day, help the kids and the hubby with whatever is needed, and head out the door.

I have a pretty long day and get LOTS done. I couldn’t do any of this if I wasn’t rested, recharged, and refueled. Ask my kids or my husband and they’ll tell you very confidently how they know Mommy is going to bed.

Moms know first hand how hard it is to get a good night’s sleep. If it’s not a child who doesn’t want to sleep in her own bed, it’s the one who forgot to tell you about the project that’s due tomorrow.

Fortunately, there are a number of ways to help you get a better night’s sleep. Try these out and, hopefully, you’ll soon be sleeping like a baby.

1. Designate a Bed Time

I go to bed at 10:30 every night. I do the same things each night before going to bed. I’ll bet you do, too – maybe even unconsciously. Try to go to bed at the same time each night. Once your body gets used to this, it will become even easier. If this doesn’t come easy to you, talk to your doctor about a prescription for 90 days meds to help.

2. Write Down Your Thoughts

Make a list of things you need to do. The sky is the limit – eat, exercise, run errands, relax, socialize, get outside, or do nothing. If I run errands during my lunch break, I’ll multi-task while eating – like returning emails, reading memo’s, etc. To be efficient, I map out errands. Get it out of your head and on paper!

3. Have an Evening Routine

My evening routine includes spending time at home with my family. Without a planned evening routine, I become easily frustrated and sometimes even have a meltdown! Instead, I intentionally make a plan so that I feel more relaxed, connected, and refreshed. What does my evening routine include? Here’s my Working Mom’s Evening Routine.

It’s easy to get overwhelmed when you try to be everything to everybody. There’s an easy solution. Stop Trying To Do It All.

You don’t have enough time to get everything done.

Sometimes you can find more efficient ways, ask someone else to help, or get creative to just get it done. Other times, you may simply need to let it go. Time is the most precious and limited resource we have. You can never create more of it. You can only use it differently.

5. Invest in a Great Mattress & Pillow

You need a mattress that provide support and comfort. You want the mattress to hold you in proper alignment from head to toe, so you don’t wake up with a back ache. You also don’t want the mattress to cause pressure to your body, which causes tossing and turning, which means you wake up tired.

WebMD says “Also look for a pillow with extra loft in the bottom third of the pillow to cradle your neck. If you sleep on your side: Side sleepers need a firmer pillow to fill in the distance between the ear and outside shoulder. If you’re a stomach sleeper: Look for a very thin, almost flat pillow.”

I definitely need more sleep! I’m awful about getting rolling with work after putting the kids to bed and it’s so hard to stop. I know if I go to bed and set an alarm it will take me awhile to get back into the groove.

This blog is well-written and informative. It sounds like you have a very busy life, but are managing it with the utmost precision and dedication. I wish I could be as disciplined. As it stands, falling asleep (especially at the same time every night) is one of the toughest things for me to do. My mind is constantly racing with everything that needs to get done and hasn’t yet. I think I might be trying some of these tips soon. Thanks!
