These working mom tips and tricks will help you plan your time, get your family fed, and save your sanity.
Whether you’re a mom that works out of necessity or by choice the working mom life can be a stressful life to lead. There’s no one that can say they’ve mastered the art of juggling a busy work life and parenting because every mom has their own way to do things, certain ways that work best for them personally.
But that doesn’t mean you still can’t learn from or use some tips and tricks from others, so here are some awesome working mom tips and tricks.
1. Cook Meals Ahead of Time
As a working mom, it can be difficult to come home after a long day and cook dinner for everyone. There’s a pretty simple way to get around this that’ll make your work days a lot easier. Every week take one of your days off to prepare and cook next week’s dinner.
This is where your slow cooker becomes your best friend because you can cook a lot at once while having to do very little, then your day off won’t feel wasted. When the time comes, all you’ll have to do is re-heat your pre-made dinners, eat, and relax.
2. Embrace Flexibility and Balance
As we all know no matter how much you plan, something will always come up that you weren’t expecting. So, it’s important for you to just know how to ditch the plan and go with the flow no matter what comes up.
Another important thing to know how to do is maintain a balance, take some time out of the day to do something for you. Something like going out for a coffee or calling a friend.
It doesn’t have to be a whole lot of time but something to help you slow down and sort of “re-charge” you.
3. Talk to Other Working Moms
Creating a network of other working moms who understand everything you’re going through can be great for your sanity. Not only are they great companions for keeping you sane but they also might have some tips and tricks of their own they can share with you to help you out even more.
4. Have Backup Options
It’s a good idea that every working mom has at least 3 people that are trusted and are willing to be your backup in cases of emergency. This can be anyone from family, friends, to your neighbors. It’s important to have 3 or more because you never know when someone will be sick, gone, or cancel on you.
5. Invest in a Good Planner
Everything from making daily lists of your tasks and meetings, writing down your kids’ schedules, to planning out meals for the week. Having it all in a planner where you can see it not only helps to keep you very organized, it’ll give you an idea of when you’re going to need some help.
This planner can be digital or physical, just as long as it can hold everything you need it to, it’s easy to check regularly, and you won’t lose it.
These are just a few great working mom tips and tricks to help keep you sane and organized through all the stress that comes with the working mom life.
