Anniversaries often fall around this time of year and require fun gift ideas for him and her.

The Meaning of Anniversaries

In all of our lives, there are undoubtedly some days that stand out in time, taking on a greater resonance and emotional power as the days go by. What am I really talking about here? I’m talking about a wedding day, and of course, the anniversary of that day.

Though the real meaning of a wedding anniversary might sometimes be lost amid the hectic, speeded up, “grab a gift and go” times we live in, the fact is that a wedding anniversary is an incredibly important day that has great meaning for two people who truly love one another.

The Wedding, Saying “I Do” and All That Goes with It

A beautiful wedding is a celebration of a couple’s true love and commitment to each other. Pledging to spend your life with another person, through good times and bad, sickness and health, new careers, job losses, huge successes and times of financial stress, is no small thing.

Quite frankly, pledging that you’ll be there for another person, loving and caring for them no matter what, is a huge act that requires courage, honesty, and a dose of bravado. All this means that yes, a wedding anniversary celebrating that moment when a couple says “I do,” for now and forever, is a big deal.

Solid, healthy marriages are the foundation of a strong society; so I say yes, let’s celebrate in every way we know how, from having a party to taking the time to find a gift that’s meaningful and also a little bit fun.

Something for Her

Yes, anniversaries matter. That’s why each anniversary should be a celebration that’s truly unique, in remembrance of the big day that started it all.

To commemorate that special day, it’s important to pick out a gift the bride can have with her on a daily basis, like flowers from Todayflowers, to keep the memories of the wedding and that wedding day pledge alive. The gift should also be beautiful, and if it has a lot of sparkle, so much the better.

Give it Some Sparkle

So, what kind of gift are we talking about? Well, if you haven’t heard, diamonds really are a girl’s best friend, so why not pick out a gorgeous diamond ring to go with her wedding band?

I’m a personal fan of Gemone Diamond’s, which has incredible choice in glamorous black diamond wedding rings for him and her from three-stone rings to solitaires.
They can even customize her dream design (perhaps her mother’s ring?).

Don’t Forget the Groom

Yes, the bride should have a beautiful gift on her anniversary, there’s no doubt about it. But what about the groom?  Though a great looking ring or a handsome pair of cufflinks are great ideas for anniversary gifts for the groom, he might also enjoy something a little more unusual.

For some men, a special gift for his “man cave” (the game room) might be just the ticket. How about a set of multi-colored jukeboxes for the gaming area, a pinball machine, or a posh ping-pong table?

This year, be sure to really do it up for the anniversary, in memory of that amazing day when it all began. Is it worth it? Is love worth it? Yes. It always is.
