Preparing a meal can be an exhausting task. After preparing a meal, it is reasonable to want a delicious and healthy dessert that is easy to prepare. Are there quick desserts that will satisfy your sweet tooth while not taking forever to make? The simple answer is yes, and with a wide variety to pick from, there is no reason for you to go without some dessert; you deserve some.

Strawberry Shortcake Parfaits

You would need;

  • Half a cup of pure cream
  • Half a teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 200g of roughly chopped shortbread fingers
  • 250g of hulled and chopped strawberries
  • 2 tablespoons of boiling water
  • 2 tablespoons of strawberry jam

To prepare, place the jam in a heatproof bowl and add boiling water. Mix them, add strawberries, and mix. In a separate bowl, beat the cream and vanilla to soft peaks. You might opt for lactose-free ice cream in Canada. Finally, divide the shortbread into halves, place one half into four 1-cup capacity glasses, top with the strawberry and cream mixture in equal proportions, and serve.

The No-Bake Peanut Butter Treats

There are various peanut butter treats to choose from. For a simple treat, you will need

  • Two tablespoons graham cracker crumbs
  • A third cup fast cooking oats
  • A third cup nonfat dry powdered milk
  • A third cup chunky peanut butter
  • A quarter cup honey

To prepare, mix the peanut butter and honey in a bowl, add the oats, milk powder, and graham cracker crumbs and mix. Shape your mixture into balls, cover, and refrigerate till you are ready to serve. You may substitute your dairy with a lactose-free alternative. You may opt for corn syrup, agave syrup, or date syrup if you have a honey allergy. You may also exclude the graham cracker crumbs if they are not to your liking.

Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies

You will need;

  • One and a half cups of flour
  • A teaspoon of baking powder
  • A teaspoon of salt
  • A cup of unsalted butter
  • A cup of brown sugar
  • Half a cup of granulated sugar
  • Two eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • A tablespoon of dark molasses
  • Three cups of whole oats
  • One and 3/4 cups of chocolate chips

To prepare, whisk all the dry ingredients together, excluding the oats, mix all the wet ingredients, combine your dry and wet ingredients, and add the oats and chocolate chips. Chill the dough for 45 minutes, scoop and bake.

Banana Splits

You will need a banana, a scoop of vanilla, chocolate, and strawberry ice cream, whipped cream, and any toppings that you might desire. You might opt for lactose-free ice cream too. Preparing a banana split involves placing the banana in a dessert dish, adding the ice cream scoops between the banana, adding the whipped cream and desired toppings as you like, and serving immediately.

Salted Caramel Peach Splits

You will need four peaches with stones removed, caramel, maple syrup, cream, and shortbread biscuits to serve. To prepare, cook your peaches in maple syrup, whisk your cream and sugar and serve your peaches with ice cream, salted caramel, and biscuit crumbs.

Desserts do not have to be boring to make. After spending your time making a healthy meal, why not opt for an easy-to-make dessert that is both filling and nutritious? Satisfy your sweet tooth with a yummy dessert after an eventful day.
