Interesting Ways To Brighten Your Bedroom

Ambient lighting makes any space more relaxing. However, rooms that are too dark look dull and encourage fatigue. As a working mom, you don’t need any help feeling exhausted.

Interesting Ways To Brighten Your Bedroom

Lamps and overhead lighting get boring quickly. Instead, find an interesting way to brighten your bedroom. Incorporate these tips to light things up in style.

Add a Touch of Luxury

Every working mom needs a touch of luxury in her life. Hanging a chandelier in your bedroom adds elegance and lighting in one step. You can find traditional or modern fixtures to match any interior aesthetic.

If chandeliers are too much, consider using a candelabra instead. This kind of lighting captures the fancy nature of a chandelier without drawing as much focus. At the very least, invest in a unique floor lamp that creates visual interest.

Create an Illusion

Brightening a space doesn’t always involve more lights. Instead, create an illusion with different design features. Hanging mirrors across open windows will reflect light and make everything look larger.

You can also mimic light by laying down bright rugs and light-colored furniture. Paint your walls and ceilings a pale color, such as white or light gray. Small changes can also trick the eye into seeing more light—even pointing your lights toward your ceiling!

Embrace Minimalism

Sometimes, it’s less about a lack of light and more about overwhelming the space. Too much clutter can bring the appearance of a room down. Wall art, décor, and furniture often cast shadows that make bedrooms look dark.

To lighten your bedroom, consider adopting a minimalist mindset. The less stuff you have in your area, the better. You need bare spaces on your walls and floor to reflect light in a dimly-lit room.

Optimize Your Windows

Of course, working with natural light is the best way to brighten your bedroom. Optimizing your windows allows the sun to shine through every inch of your space. Give your windows a deep cleaning to avoid obstructing any natural sunshine.

Be careful when choosing curtains. Dark, heavy drapes won’t do any good if you’re trying to bring in more light. Instead, opt for sheer, lightweight curtains to make your space shine.

Your bedroom is where you start every single day. Adding light to the space will help working moms everywhere feel more energized for the week ahead. Begin your morning with a pep in your step by using these tips.
