You may be busy and short on time, but that doesn’t mean your home has to be short on style. Faux plants are a convenient way to beautify your home. Find out the top reasons you should use faux plants as interior décor.

Top Reasons You Should Use Faux Plants as Interior Décor

Liven Up the Space

Just like with real plants, faux plants liven up your interior design. Faux plants evoke the outdoors, and spending time close to nature can improve your mood and overall well-being.

Make your home cozy and welcoming with small plants on tabletops and shelves. Add visual interest to otherwise dead space, like empty walls or corners, with artificial trees.

Place Them Anywhere

Another excellent reason to use faux plants as interior décor is that you can place them anywhere. Living plants need the right temperature and sunlight to thrive. But artificial plants can just as easily add charm to windowless rooms. If you want the plant to appear real, place it where it could naturally grow—and enjoy not having to perform maintenance like you would with a living plant.

The appearances of living plants change a lot, and sometimes those changes affect the design you’re going for in a particular space. For example, living plants might lose their flowers or outgrow where you place them. Alternatively, you never have to worry about an artificial plant’s appearance changing. If you love how it looks wherever you place it, you can keep it there for all seasons, year after year.

Maintain With Ease

With faux plants, you won’t need a green thumb to enjoy the flowers and greenery. Whenever you dust the room, dust your plants, too. A microfiber duster will prevent debris from accumulating on your beautiful plants.

Twice a year, you’ll need to clean the plants a bit more thoroughly. Unless you have a delicate silk plant, you can wash most faux plants with cool water from your shower head or a hose. Just cover the parts that shouldn’t get wet, such as moss, and let the plants air dry on a towel or outside.

Style As You Like

Finally, faux plants are easy and fun to style. If you want to adjust how your plants look or want to create a special floral centerpiece, artificial plants are the perfect medium. For example, you can mix and match artificial plants to create a charming DIY succulent arrangement.

Experiment with how each plant looks in vases of different heights and colors. Consider adding faux dirt, moss, or straw at the base of your plant for more depth and visual interest. Making changes to your plant will keep it stylish for many years, and it’s a fun project that personalizes your interior design.
