Women of all ages go in for breast augmentation surgeries for various needs, but the common thread is better shape, size, and symmetry for a more feminine and sexier look. Regardless of the reason for going in for breast augmentation surgery, you need to take a considered decision and follow some tips for better outcomes.

Some recommendations:

Choose the Plastic Surgeon with Care

To achieve good results, you need to choose the plastic surgeon with care. You should choose one with the desired level of experience and skill, and importantly, appreciate why you want the surgery. Make sure your surgeon has a certification by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS). You will be more confident in entrusting yourself to a surgeon with many years of experience, so don’t be afraid to ask for his credentials. According to Stratus Plastic Surgery, you must also be comfortable with the surgeon and assure yourself he understands your needs.

Don’t Go Under the Knife to Please Someone Else

You need to understand why you are considering breast augmentation surgery. While it is perfectly okay to undergo the procedure if you want to feel more confident, feminine, or revert to your original figure after childbirth, you should be sure it is what you want. Wanting to please someone else is not a good enough reason for breast surgery. If you are confused, discuss it with your counselor or surgeon.

There Are Other Considerations beyond Size

It is common for women to focus more on the size of the breasts after surgery and the implants they should get. However, never insist on a specific cup size because proportion is more important. Think more about how you want to look rather than how gig you want your breast to be. Take into account anatomical aspects like your chest shape, shoulder width, height, weight, etc., that affect the way implants will look on you. Also, you should factor in your lifestyle, activities, and fashion sense to decide what works for you the best.

Know Your Options

Your surgeon is the best person to help you decide what is right for you. According to Look Younger, the FDA has approved two types of implants; saline and silicone. While a saline implant allows the surgeon to adjust the size during the procedure, silicone implants are more popular because they look and feel more natural. Earlier, all implants were round but now you can get them in a teardrop shape, which resembles the shape of natural breasts more closely. If you opt for a teardrop implant, you should choose a textured one since they tend to shift less. Round implants can be smooth because they don’t look different even if they rotate.

Conclusion

Undergoing breast augmentation surgery can help resolve several issues regarding the size and shape of your breasts. It can make you feel more confident, reverse the signs of aging, and correct the changes due to pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, or weight loss. However, it is important to consult an expert plastic surgeon, know your options, and take adequate pre and post-surgery care for the best results.
