All of us want our bathrooms to reflect our personal style and want it to be a comfortable, relaxing, cool space at the same time. However, apart from the desire to make it aesthetically pleasing, there should be proper fixtures and amenities in your bathroom that provide the function and value.  Careful planning and selection of right design while remodeling your bathroom can help you achieve all of it.

Some homeowners seek outside help to take a remodeling project from start to finish. They might seek out a team that has the experience and expertise needed for every aspect of the renovation process. A company like Remodel Works would be a good start.

Here is a rundown of useful tips that can help you turn your bathroom remodeling dream into reality.

Don’t Regret Tile Floors:

The floor is the main component of your bathroom’s ambience, so choose the right tiles from an online store that sell quality bathroom tiles. Do not use porous natural stone tiles for your bathroom floor as they will be in direct contact with water constantly and stone tiles such as limestone will absorb spills and drips, and they will get stained over time. Go for porcelain, glazed, glass mosaic, or trend pool tiles for flooring your bathroom. Moreover, if you are concerned about slippery floor, you should choose the tiles with matte finishes and textured surfaces. Another tip is to choose small tiles with grout lines as they offer better grip than large tiles.

Upgrade Fixtures and Hardware:

Replacing your bathroom fixtures is an inexpensive bathroom remodeling tip to change the look and feel of your space. You can consider installing a new sink faucet and handles. Also, consider upgrading light fixtures, towel racks, drawer pulls, robe hooks, toilet paper holders, and cabinets of your bathroom. Updating these small details can make a bold statement. It’s a good idea to match your new fixtures with the color of your bathroom floor.

For a more cost-effective toilet fixture upgrade, try a Sanicompact upflush toilet. The installation of an upflush toilet does not require tearing up your bathroom floor. It is a good option for bathrooms in hard-to-reach places with low water pressure.

Light a Vanity Right:

Vanity space of your bathroom has to be brightly lighted. Wall scones should be placed at eye level on both sides of your bathroom mirror. You can also consider installing a light fixture on the wall area right above the mirror. Recessed ceiling fixtures are not enough for your vanity space. Right vanity lighting doesn’t form any shadows on your face when you look into the mirror.

Replace your Bath Mat:

A dirty and tired bath mat makes your bathroom look untidy and dull. Remodeling your bathroom is a good excuse to replace it. Turkish and Persian rugs are in trend so you can consider replacing your terry cloth mat with a fancy rug. With beautiful colors and patterns, these tufted wool rugs are perfect for adding sophistication and personality to your bathroom.

Freshen Caulk and Grout:

Caulk and grout are often overlooked but important details. You can add sparkle to your bathroom by simply cleaning the grout and adding neat and straight lines of caulk around the tub and sink. You might get surprise at the difference this can make. Re-grout and re-caulk the seals around your sink, shower, and tiles.

Go Green with the Bathroom Remodel:

Incorporating the toilets, showerheads, and sinks will not only conserve water but also help you extend your savings. Low flow faucets and showerheads often cost the same as the traditional ones so you won’t have to spend extra money to save on your utility bills.
