Are you looking for an option for teeth whitening for sensitive teeth? Read this post to hear about my Smile Brilliant review.

I received a complimentary kit from Smile Brilliant but was not required to post a positive review. All experiences and opinions are my own.

Teeth Whitening for Sensitive Teeth

I have sensitive teeth. What that means is whenever I drink something cold or take a bite out of something cold the front of my mouth both top and bottom gums. Sends a chilling sensation. It has always been this way as long as I can remember. Never being able to take a bite directly out of ice cream rather having to bite it sideways and melt the cold confections on my tongue.

I am also a daily coffee drinker.

So when I got the opportunity from Smile Brilliant, I couldn’t pass up a chance to try their at home teeth whitening for sensitive teeth kit.

About My Stains

Coffee is part of my morning routine. I brew a pot of coffee and prepare two insulated mugs with my favorite blend of coffee, flavored creamer, and artificial sweetener.

I have tried teeth whitening gels before but it’s always felt too cumbersome. So I usually just settle for toothpaste that has teeth whitening properties in it.

Smile Brilliant Review – Before and After

These before and after photos I’m sharing are unedited. In fact, Smile Brilliant specifically instructed me not to alter or edit them, so they showed an accurate representation of my experience with the kit.

I took this photo before I made the impressions for my trays.

This photo was taken after five days of whitening.

TEETH WHITENING FOR SENSITIVE TEETH with Smile Brilliant

Here is how the first few days went:

Day 1 –

  • a lot of drooling while whitening
  • note: have a cup and/or wet washcloth by you
  • top tray felt like it fit better than the bottom tray
  • whitened for three hours

Day 2-

  • I felt more confident about the process
  • still drooling
  • a little tingling sensation around teeth – gums at the top of my mouth
  • whitened for two hours

Day 3 –

  • into the routine
  • things went smoothly
  • still drooling
  • whitened for about 45 minutes (busy night of activities and got home late)

Day 4 –

  • minimal drooling
  • whitened for two hours

Day 5 –

  • minimal drooling
  • whitened for three hours

Overall Notes About My Smile Brilliant Review:

I had to set a timer every night to remind myself to use the kit. The instructions are to whiten before bed for a minimum of 45 minutes and a maximum of three hours. After the whitening, you can desensitize for 15-20 minutes.

So, be sure to factor that time in, too.

While wearing the trays, I would work on my computer or watch TV. Then, no eating or drinking for 30 minutes. (Whitening in the last hours before bed makes this easier.)

Also, since it is not advisable to eat or drink anything that would stain your teeth within 24 hours, I thought this was going to mean I couldn’t have coffee during this process. However, I learned that drinking through a straw is ok, so I did that each morning with my coffee. Otherwise, this might have been a deal breaker for me! I could not go 5-10 days with NO coffee!!!

PROS

  • The tray creation process was not complicated. The instructions that come in the tray creation kit are thorough and easy to follow.
  • The customer service provided by Smile Brilliant was exceptional. From the time my order was placed, I received emails about when the order was processed, shipped, and delivered. Once I created my impressions, I received emails when they were received, shipped, and delivered. A representative followed up with me during the process, provided tips, and made herself available for any questions that arose.
  • The whitening process is simple and quick to get started.
  • Being able to put the whitening trays in and continue normal activities is a bonus.
  • Whitening results are much better and quicker than other OTC whitening treatments.

CONS

  • There are lots of specific instructions to follow, so be sure to read them a few times before you complete them when making your impressions and doing the actual whitening.
  • There was lots of drooling while I was completing the whitening process.
