Summertime is near, the school year is ending, and many kids are itching to sit at home and watch Netflix or play video games all day. When kids are home all day and out of their school routine, they can quickly get bored.

Activities To Keep Your Kids Busy During Summer Break

Whether you’re a stay-at-home parent or away at a full-time job, you need to supply kids with things to do throughout the day. Fortunately, there are many activities you can choose from to keep your kids busy during summer break!

Develop a Green Thumb by Starting a Garden

The summertime is the best time for kids to develop a green thumb! Help start an indoor or outdoor garden for your kiddos to tend to daily or every other day. They’ll love to watch the plants grow from their care!

Go Camping in the Backyard

Host Family or Sibling Cook-Offs

Create a Bucket of Activities

When trying to find activities to keep your kids busy during summer break on the spot, your mind can run blank. Before summer sets in, take time to create a bucket full of popsicle sticks labeled with activities for your kiddos to enjoy. Whenever they’re bored or complaining about having “nothing to do,” you can direct them to the bucket of activities, ask them to pick a stick blindly, and start the pre-planned fun!
