Family vacations can be exciting and stressful all at the same time, with so many obstacles to dodge and people to keep entertained.vacation planning tips | vacation planning tips | Summer vacation planning

But not to worry, here are seven top tips for stress-free family travel.

  • Let everyone have a say

Whether or not you think Mom knows best, make sure you let everyone have a say in the itinerary for the trip. This way you’ll all have something special to look forward to and be less likely to act up during the vacation.

  • Don’t overpack your schedule

When you’ve spent ages saving for a family vacation, you’ll want to get your money’s worth and ensure that your kids do everything they want. Just ensure you don’t fall into the trap of overpacking your schedule. Picking a few activities each day and factoring in time for spontaneous family fun is a far better approach.

  • Stay in an apartment

Apartments are a convenient and easy way to stay together in one place. If you want to find a new apartment or home, you need to contact the apartment property management to book your stay. Management services ensure that your property is well cared for and you live in the best possible way to meet your needs.

Going on vacation means being in constant close proximity to your loved ones. And if there’s one place where you’re likely to start to get on top of each other, it’s in a pokey hotel. So consider booking a holiday apartment on Airbnb and enjoy some extra space, facilities and an overall more homely feel to your accommodation.

  • Factor in extra time

No matter how organized you are with planning, there’s always a long list of last-minute jobs to be done before you set off. So try to factor in an extra day either side of your trip so you can avoid last-minute rushing around before you leave, and have some time to sort your laundry and get settled before you return to reality when you get back.

  • Drive to the airport

Public transport is alright when you’re traveling solo, however, with your family in tow, you’ll be far more comfortable in your car – it’ll probably be cheaper too. To save you the stress of riding round in circles looking for a spot when you arrive at the airport, book airport parking on Looking4.com – it has great deals for hubs like Ontario and Orlando.

  • Travel with apps

Just because you’re the parent doesn’t mean you should shoulder the burden of being a vacation leader. It can get overwhelming after a while and detract from your enjoyment of the vacation. However, if you travel with apps, you’ll benefit from some much-needed assistance for common travel tasks and be able to spend more time having fun. This article on The Oprah Magazine website lists some of the best ones on the market.

  • Stay connected

Whether you’re traveling with toddlers or teenagers, it’s easy to end up getting separated when at your busy tourist destination. So take steps to stay connected such as giving your children phones (if they’re old enough), attaching a tag to younger children with your contact details on it and arranging a meeting point, in case you get split up.

Family vacations are rarely without their moments, however, if you follow these seven tips, you’ll be able to keep stress to a minimum.
