The state is home to beautiful scenery, including mountains, lakes, and forests. There are also plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities like hiking, camping, fishing, and skiing. And for those who enjoy history and culture, New Hampshire features several interesting museums and historical sites.

The White Mountains

The White Mountains are a must-see for any nature lover. With towering peaks and pristine forests, it’s easy to see why this region is so popular.

There are plenty of hiking trails to explore, as well as several ski resorts for those looking to hit the slopes.

If you’re visiting during a touristy period, it’s best to make sure you book in advance for any hikes and tours. The White Mountains are a vast mountain range in New Hampshire, so look ahead of visiting as to which tour you’d like to do.

Lake Winnipesaukee

Lake Winnipesaukee is the largest lake in New Hampshire and a popular spot for both locals and tourists alike. In the summer, people come to enjoy the warm weather and beautiful scenery, while in the winter, the lake is a popular spot for ice fishing.

Lake Winnipesaukee has lots of attractions nearby and excursions to tickle all kinds of traveling tastebuds. Again, it’s important to take a look at what to do near Lake Winnipesaukee before you travel, as things get booked up very quickly during peak tourist seasons!

The Flume Gorge

The Flume Gorge is a natural gorge located in Franconia Notch State Park. The gorge is home to a variety of plants and animals, as well as some stunning waterfalls.

Visitors can explore the gorge via a self-guided tour or take a hike on one of the many trails.

If you’re feeling brave, you can always explore the gorge by yourself or with your travel buddies. A tour isn’t always necessary – especially when you can discover so much on your own.

You can go hiking, explore the caves, have a picnic, and much more. Just be sure to wear good shoes and bring a flashlight if you plan on doing any cave exploring. Have fun!

The Canterbury Shaker Village

The Canterbury Shaker Village is a historic site that was once home to a community of Shakers. Today, the village is open to the public and features several exhibits on the history and culture of the Shakers.

Visitors can also take part in traditional activities such as basket weaving and herb gardening.

Here you can explore museums, visit historic sites, take part in a workshop… the options are endless! So definitely plan ahead.

The Mount Washington Cog Railway

The Mount Washington Cog Railway is a historic railway that takes visitors to the top of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northeastern United States. The railway is powered by a steam engine and offers some stunning views of the surrounding countryside. A must-visit for your trip to New Hampshire!

The Seacoast Science Center

The Seacoast Science Center is a hands-on museum that lets visitors explore the marine environment of New Hampshire’s coast. The center features several aquariums, touch tanks, and exhibits on local wildlife.

Visitors can also take part in educational programs such as tide pool walks and whale-watching cruises. For any science-heads visiting, you need this place added to your list if it’s not already!

Castle in the Clouds
