by RAKI WRIGHT

Our work lives have become very demanding and challenging in the current world. The onset of the current pandemic has further added stress to our lives. Everyone is working from home, and job security has become a myth. Thus, balancing personal and professional life has become a huge challenge. These factors have increased stress and anxiety levels in people, and we get to hear unfortunate news of suicide every now and then.

Anxiety can have a negative impact on your health, relationship, and productivity. But, by making small changes in your lifestyle you can control your stress and anxiety levels. In this article, we have compiled 6 ways to tame your work stress. Following these simple techniques will relax your mind and you will get the strength to navigate your life during these tough times.

Meditation

If you wish to de-stress your mind, then you need to calm it. Meditation is a good way to relax your mind and rejuvenate it. Meditation is known to help in personal growth and improve your health also. Mindful meditation relaxes your mind from all the stress, anxiety, and negativity around you. This increases your focus and productivity as your mind gets into the solution mode.

Meditation increases grey matter feisty in the brain which is important for learning and self-development. In short, meditation brings positivity in your life and you start seeing life with a fresh outlook. Moreover, people with moderate depression have come out of it after practicing meditation. So, take out 10 to 15 minutes in the morning and practice meditation to reduce the normal cognitive decline of the brain.

Another way to calm your mind is to consider CBD products from companies like Gold Bee. Health professionals from third-party labs test CBD products before they go on the market and manufacturers provide customers with the test results. CBD products require transparency, good business ethics, and above all else, healthy supplements. That right there is a definite fit within Gold Bee’s standards.

Think positive

Positive thinking plays a great role in reducing work stress. Worrying about the same things over and over again isn’t good for your mental health. Thus, to break this cycle it is important to train your brain to think in a positive direction. Think about the outcomes that you would like to have, rather than thinking about the results you are afraid of.

You can also practice positive affirmations like you are up for the challenge, you can beat this obstacle, you can embrace this challenge, etc. Repeating these affirmations a few times will bring a positive outlook in your mind, and your anxiety will reduce.

A cup of coffee

Coffee does a good job of reducing stress and anxiety. It consists of caffeine which boosts the brain and energizes the body. One cup of hot coffee in the morning is good to give you enough energy to tackle the entire day. To make the process of coffee making easy, you can buy biodegradable coffee pods. These pods can make one cup (40 ml) of hot espresso at a time.

They are available in a variety of flavors for you to choose from. Since these are biodegradable, the waste generated is less which helps in reducing your house’s carbon footprint.

Burn off some steam

Exercising is good to keep your mind and heart healthy. It helps in releasing endorphins that act as natural painkillers. Endorphins are also known to improve your mood. Regular exercise improves your sleep quality, promotes mental wellbeing, and thus you start feeling confident. Your anxiety and stress level reduces and your mindset becomes positive.

Walking, jogging, dancing, or yoga are some good exercises to do. Spend 30 minutes a day exercising and experience a reduction in your anxiety levels.

Go outside

Sitting inside your house and working all day is an open invitation to a lot of diseases. A little break from your work environment and some fresh air can refresh your mind. A walk in the park will stimulate your senses and divert your mind from stress-causing thoughts. Thus, go for a walk, get some fresh air, and talk to other people to keep your mind away from stress and anxiety.

Deep breathing

Deep breathing activates the parasympathetic nervous system, which counters the anxiety symptoms like a faster heartbeat, quick breathing, constricted blood vessels, etc. Thus, your mind calms down, and your body relaxes. 5 to 10-minute of breathing exercise in the morning will refresh your mind and keep it active throughout the day. You can do exercises like abdominal breathing, belly breathing, paced respiration, etc. Check out www.breathwrk.com/ for their amazing breathing exercise app that will help in stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, to be able to respond to stress effectively.

Pro tip

You can also opt for float tanks that offer complete relaxation of body and mind. They also provide a reduced sensory environment that helps to reduce stress and anxiety. If you want to know more then refer to Float Valley float tanks that have been known to provide an amazing experience for distressing and recharging.
