For many, a bathroom is one of the most important places in the house. Most of the time, we often find that our bathroom doesn’t have that certain quality that we have always wanted, and thus, it’s time to remodel.

If you’re going to remodel, you will go one of two ways:

  1. Get a contractor
  2. Do it yourself

If you get a contractor , you will get the job done with minimal effort. You will sit back and let the professionals do their thing after telling them what you want. Contracting out the job will cost you a pretty penny. You could do it yourself if you’re willing to spend less money, you have some extra time on your hands, or you want to have some fun.

Questions to Ask

Whichever path you choose, there are a few questions you need to ask yourself before you begin:

  1. What new fixtures will I add to the bathroom? A new shower, a tub, a sink? Will I replace things or keep them as they are?
  2. What colour scheme am I going to follow? What colour has been in your mind for a while? What colour or a blend of colours will work with the look you’re going for?
  3. How much “free” space do I have, and how much must be available when I am done? Will you use cabinets to save space, to store linens, toiletries, and emergency supplies ?
  4. How long can I wait for the renovation? Are you willing to wait the next three months for the renovation, or do you need it done as soon as possible?
  5. With the new design, bathroom ventilation will allow the bathroom to be well ventilated to prevent mildew and mould.

Tools to Use

To correctly answer these questions, you will need to visualize and bring into reality the ideas in your mind. To do this, you need visualization tools while remodelling. Some of the tools are the following:

  • Caesarstone Visualizer

The Caesarstone Visualizer tool is one of the best tools out there. When it comes to remodelling, this is a go-to tool for many professionals and amateur builders. It brings the design in the minds of its users to life with 3D rendering. It has many design features that allow you to edit and create your dream bathroom. It’s a tool used not just for bathroom remodelling but for the entire house. It allows you to save and share your designs with others and to view other designs for inspiration. You can also save any designs you have made and come back to them later. The interface is very user-friendly and easy to use.

The editing process is so easy that many professionals prefer to use it for larger bathrooms. You can also make very tiny edits like change the colour of a particular part of the wall or change the shower head’s shape. The Caesarstone Visualizer is free and doesn’t require you to sign in before you use it. Of all the design tools I have used, the Caesarstone Visualizer is the best so far. See this post to get a better idea.

  • Floors & Kitchens Today

This is a free online tool that allows you to upload pictures of your bathroom. It also allows you to make simple edits to the picture you uploaded so you can see what needs to be done. The tool will enable you to share with other designers your ideas. It’s also free to use, and it’s pretty easy to use.

  • Formica Bathroom Visualizer

This is also a free-to-use app. It allows you to design what your bathroom will look like, and it has ready-made designs which you can consult for ideas. You can also upload an image of your bathroom. It’s also straightforward and easy to use. It has several exciting options to turn while you’re editing your bathroom images.

  • HomeByMe

This is a robust design application that can be used to design your bathroom. Like the other design tools, it allows you to create various designs for your bathroom. The app is so robust you can build an entire house on it and view the designs in 3D. You can share designs you came up with and view designs by others for inspiration. It is free, easy to use, and you don’t need any design skills to use it.

  • Live Home 3D Pro

This is another tool that could be very useful when remodelling your bathroom. It is used by both amateur and professional builders. It’s quite easy to use, and anyone can easily create detailed floor plans and render a 3D image of them. It’s often used to design an entire house and furnish the house all in the virtual space. It allows for sharing of designs, and the designs are very high quality. It also allows an elevation view that isn’t found in many apps of this kind. Using the app and seeing the options available to use, you will easily pick what needs to be added and what needs to go out of your current bathroom.

  • The lowly pen and paper

In the presence of all the tools discussed, the pen and paper might seem ridiculous, but it’s highly effective and handy when remodelling a bathroom. With pen and paper, you can write down the new things you want in your bathroom, the things you’re taking out, the estimated cost of materials, calculate the amount of time and materials you will need, and so on.

Conclusion

Seeing what you create come to life can be a very rewarding process. However, it can be very heartbreaking if what comes out isn’t what you planned for. To prevent such a fate, you need proper planning. It’s essential to check all angles while planning before you start anything.
