5 Bathroom Trends You Won’t Want to Miss for 2021

Your bathroom is your haven and a place to escape when you’ve had a day away from the kids. If your bathroom is looking a little sad and neglected, it may be time to bring it up to date, so here are the latest trends from 2021 to give you a little inspiration for your own home.

  • Showers with the wow factor

Showers are often functional and look a little dull. After all, it’s just something you use daily for a quick clean and hair wash, so you probably don’t think about upgrading this appliance. However, in 2021, statement showers are big news. If you shop at Melbourne’s best discount bathroom supplies store, you’ll find that there’s more to the humble shower than you might think. Huge, oversized showerheads are big news at the moment, and showers with lots of extra functions add relaxation to your daily rituals.

  • Colored bathroom suites

For the longest time, colored bathroom suites were a big interior design no-no. They’d soon be ripped out by homeowners and replaced by white suites which were seen as a more contemporary style. But 2021 has brought color back to bathrooms and kitchens, which makes them much cozier and avoids the clinical sterile look. If you aren’t quite ready for an avocado bath or blue toilet, add colored splashbacks or tiles to add interest to the room.

  • Rustic bathrooms

Another look that’s big at the moment is the modern country style, and this rustic look can be added to your bathroom. Some key elements of this style include:

  • Rustic stone tile on the walls and floors
  • Thick wooden doors
  • Wooden cabinets painted in toned-down shades like earthy blues and greys
  • Exposed beams
  • Adding vintage furniture like a chair or cabinet that has been upcycled

A rustic bathroom can still be practical. Adding modern fittings that are easy to clean and practical, alongside rustic features, will make life easier.

  • Pink and green combined

A color palette that is in demand right now and works well in bathrooms is pink and green. These soft shades work well together and give you a modern, Instagrammable look. They work well in bathrooms as they have a soft, relaxing look that you’ll no doubt love.

  • Open-plan bathrooms

While it may sound like a strange concept, many people are tearing down their en-suite bathroom walls and creating more open spaces such as combined dressing rooms and bathrooms. You may need building regulation approval to create this sort of space, but it can create a unique feature that you’ll love. It can also be practical. For example, if you don’t have space for a traditional en-suite, you can add a corner shower with a glass screen to your bedroom that’s fairly open, yet still enclosed enough to not cause damage.

Bathroom trends change all the time, so why not update your space? A dated bathroom doesn’t feel much like a sanctuary, so take a look at 2021’s bathroom trends and think about what’ll work for your space.
