This might seem like an ordinary gift, but it is what is inside the bag that is different. Find out what the theme of the nursery will be or the design of the baby shower invites, and get a diaper bag in the same theme. Get the name of the baby or the last name of the family monogramed on the bag. Add supplies that the new parents can use for the baby. Suggestions are wipes, bottles, pacifiers and toys. You can also get a diaper bag for the father in colors that he likes such as camouflage or a sports team.
Diaper Baby
Babies go through a lot of diapers, so why not make a baby that is made from diapers. Find a sleeper, and position several diapers inside the sleeper so that the finished product will look like a baby. If you know the gender of the baby, then find the appropriate sleeper. However, if you do not know what the baby will be, then use yellow or green. The diaper baby can be used as a table centerpiece, and you can create several of them if you have enough sleepers. The parents can keep the clothes and the diapers after the shower is over.
Cake
This is not the kind of cake that you eat. Begin with a cardboard base, and position diapers around the base. Build the diapers up in tiers, and then decorate the diaper cake. You can add rattles, small bottles of shampoo and baby powder and other items that can be used. This can also be used as a centerpiece on the gift or food table.
Bathtub
In order to make this gift, you need to find a tub that is large enough to hold baby supplies instead of an infant tub. Put diapers inside the tub so that they fill it about halfway. The rest of the tub is filled with cotton balls so that it looks like soap suds. Fill the remainder of the tub with items like baby wipes, towels and other bath accessories.
Wreath
This is an easy gift to make. Find a Styrofoam wreath, and wrap the wreath with ribbon to match the colors of the shower. Add diapers to the outside of the wreath with a bobby pin or safety clip. Finish the wreath with small toys, one of the baby shower invites or decorations. The parents can display the wreath on the front door after the baby is born.
