Youtube is one of the oldest video-sharing platforms and as such there are many people that use Youtube as their primary platform for entertainment and even news. If you are trying to break out into the Youtube world then you may be worried that the platform is oversaturated.

However, as time goes by it becomes more and more apparent that there is always space for new original content and creators. You could use services such as SubPals (here is our favorite SubPals review for reference) – but that, whilst effective, costs money. If you want to increase your odds at making it on youtube, and for completely free, here are some amazing growth strategies that will help make your channel a hit in 2022.

  1. Have catchy and interesting video titles

Your video title is one of the first things that people are going to see. If your videos appear in people’s recommendations then your only chance of people clicking on your videos is to have them have incredibly interesting and catchy titles. Your title is an important part of your video and you should give just as much attention to making it original as you are giving to the creation of your actual video.

  1. Use compelling Thumbnails

Much like your video title is the first thing users will read about your video, similarly, your thumbnails are the first visual element of your video that they will see. For that reason, you should try to optimize your thumbnails by ensuring that they are in the correct dimensions and are made of high-quality images and that the graphics look interesting and new. Your thumbnail should give people a glimpse into what they should expect if they click on your video.

Where possible always design your youtube thumbnail separately and avoid using the thumbnail that is recommended by Youtube.

  1. Don’t forget about Tags and Description

Many people seem to forget about the tags and description and at times they may even consider them to be less valuable than all of the other aspects of the video. However, that view could not be further from the truth. Your description and tags are essential as they are what Youtube will use to categorize your videos.

If your videos fit a specific niche or style then the tags are what will categorize them as such. Based on those keywords people looking for videos in the style or type will use the search bar and see what they can find.

If your videos are not using any of those keywords then they will not appear in those search results. As a consequence of that, you will see that fewer people will organically find your videos and choose to follow along. ArXe Ventures found their clients exponentially increased the views on their videos just by adding hashtags into the video description.

  1. Think outside of Youtube

No matter which social media platform you are promoting you should never forget that there are many other platforms out there. For growing your Youtube channel you will need to leverage your audience on every single platform. You can edit shorter versions of your videos for Instagram and TikTok, link your new video on Instagram stories, or tweet about it on your account. By cross-promoting your content on different platforms, you will increase your chances of your content reaching people that are interested in your niche. What’s more, if the cross-promotion is done correctly you could also see growth in all of your other platforms as more and more people will want to follow along and see what you post. If that doesn’t work, you may want to consider purchasing YouTube views for sale.

  1. Collaborate with other Creators

Youtube was built on collaborations. All of the early Youtube creators used to know each other and were constantly featured on each other’s channels. As a result of that one person’s audience would quickly subscribe and start following other people on the platform. The same is still true today.

While you may not be able to get a collaboration with someone who has a much bigger channel than you, that does not mean you should not try to find collaborations with creators with a similar following.

If for every collaboration you do your videos are suddenly seen by hundreds more viewers, some of them will be bound to subscribe and stick around. For that reason, you should always try to actively pursue collaborations as they are an easy channel-building tactic.

Growing your Youtube channel in 2022 can require a lot of time and dedication but by following these growth practices and tips you will see a lot more success faster. Remember to always try to post original content that others will enjoy watching, as your content is the true key to growth.
