With work, kids to care for, and household chores to think about, it’s easy for moms to get distracted and neglect their skincare. Especially in the spring, many people experience dry skin due to allergies and the sudden change in temperature.

But you don’t have to break the bank or sacrifice time away from your kids to give your body some much-needed TLC! You just need to make a few changes to your routine to help your face remain smooth and healthy!

Here are four easy ways to keep moisturized.

1. Use a face-steamer

We’ve all heard of our friends steaming their faces over a bowl of heating water, but you might have always thought this trend is silly. However, steaming your face is good for you because it can help your skin to produce more oil, which in turn acts as a natural moisturizer.

It’s also beneficial because it opens up your pores, which means your face will be better at absorbing skin care products and reaping their benefits!

Luckily, we don’t have to rely on bowls of water to steam our face anymore. Many drugstores and online outlets now sell a wide range of at-home steamers, so you can find the perfect face steamer for your needs.

2. Use a different moisturizer at night

Some people might think night moisturizers don’t make any difference, but they’re actually an underrated and important part of anyone’s skincare regime, regardless of age!

The reason night creams are important is because your skin acts differently during the night. While your skin is in protective mode during the day, fending off external aggressors such as the sun and wind, it transitions into full full recovery and regeneration mode when your body is resting.

Your skin is more permeable and receptive to treatment, which is why night creams tend to be thicker, helping you deeply moisturize your face.

3. Use the right skincare products for your skin type

For your face to be effectively hydrated, you need to make sure you are using the right product for your skin-type. Everyone is different, but the four most common skin-types are as follows:

  • Oily – your face produces too much oil.
  • Combination – your skin produces too much oil in some areas and not enough in other areas.
  • Dry – you do not produce enough oil.
  • Sensitive – you are prone to allergic reactions to perfumes and other common cosmetic ingredients, or have an underlying condition like eczema.

If you can identify your skin type, you should be able to find the product that’s right for you. Most beauty brands develop products tailored to your face’s needs, which is why it is important for you to know. Otherwise, the moisturizer you’ve been using might be a mismatch and not do anything for your skin at all.

If you have oily skin you are better off with oil-free moisturizers. If you have sensitive skin you could purchase a moisturizer with no artificial perfumes.

4. Try facial spray

Facial spray is essentially a moisturizer on-the-go. It is great if you need to give your skin a top-up during the day, especially if you live in a harsh climate, have a long day ahead of you, or have a frequently busy schedule!

It’s really convenient and helps you maintain the quality of your skin no matter what you’re doing.

Conclusion

Ultimately, keeping your skin moisturized should be the priority of your skincare regime. It helps your makeup flow smoother, protects your skin from harsh conditions, and keeps your face looking ten years younger!
