Indulging in skincare is a very popular way to treat yourself from the comfort of your own home. Not only can at-home skincare treatments be a great way to reduce your stress levels, but these are also beneficial for the health and appearance of your skin.

Best of all, there are many soothing options to choose from, depending on the following factors:

-The ingredients you prefer
-Your budget
-The amount of time you have for each treatment
-Your skincare goals

Some of the most popular options contain vitamin C, according to TheDermDetective. To celebrate this natural rejuvenator, here are five vitamin C skin care treatments and product ideas to integrate into your daily regimen.

1. Vitamin C Facial Peels

A facial peel is a great way to exfoliate, leaving your skin smooth and even. Exfoliation brightens your complexion and evens your skin tone because it removes excess dead skin cells.

Unlike other skincare options, like serums or oils, facial peels aren’t an everyday treatment, so they’re ideal if you’re looking for a causal glow-up treat.

While there are a lot of resources available for making your own facial peels, the safest way to indulge is to use a store-bought treatment. These can be found almost everywhere you can purchase skin care products.

You can even find options that are vegan, cruelty-free, and sustainably sourced.

2. Vitamin C Serums

Unlike vitamin C facial peels, serums can be used every day as a part of your routine skin care. These products are often touted as some of the best anti-aging products on the market. Much like vitamin C facial peels, these serums also brighten and even complexions.

Opting to add a step in your skincare routine is a great solution for adding in some extra self-care you can do every day.  If you don’t have the time for a facial peel or another similar treatment, this is how you should sneak in some extra comfort.

3. Vitamin C Oils

In addition to the usual vitamin C benefits of skin brightening and evening out complexion, oils that contain vitamin C also offer the benefit of hydration for your skin.

Rosehip and vitamin C oils are especially beneficial since they are rich in antioxidant properties and other elements that can even reduce damage caused by free radicals.

4. Vitamin C Masks

One of the most popular ways to treat yourself is to set aside a few moments to do a face mask.
These masks are available in a number of ways. Depending on your skin type or the amount of time that you have, you can choose:

-Clay masks
-Sheet masks
-Gel-based hydration masks

Each of these varieties offer options that include vitamin C, so you have a good number of options to choose from.

Oils or serums show benefits over time. However, with masks, you’ll be able to see the benefits right away.

5. Vitamin C Scrubs

Vitamin C scrubs have many of the same benefits that a vitamin C facial peel offers, since they are both types of exfoliation.

Not all scrubs are created equal, however. You’ll want to stay clear of scrubs that include harsh ingredients like ground coffee or walnut shells, since these can actually do damage to your skin.

There are safe options available, like sugar-based scrubs. This is because when the sugar is mixed with water or other ingredients, it dissolves.

This is a great option if you find that peels or chemical exfoliant scrubs don’t provide your skin with enough exfoliation benefits. When a scrub also includes vitamin C, it increases the brightening benefits that the scrub exfoliation already has.
