3 Ways to Entertain Kids During School Closures

Schools all over the country are closed. While this was done to protect the students, working parents are now forced to occupy their children during the day.

This article will overview three key ways to entertain your kids during school closures. Remember, we’ll get through this difficult time together.

Cook with them

Cook with your kids while you’re in self-quarantine. Cooking is a great way to bond with your little ones and get your mind off of things for a while. Ask your kiddos to participate in the process; don’t just have them sit and watch you do everything. Cooking is an excellent way to keep your kids engaged and active during this time. Tempt them by making delicious treats as well. Bake some cupcakes or, if you want to make something totally unique and delicious, make this coconut, mango, and açaí soft serve. Your youngsters will love getting to spend time with you, and you’ll get to enjoy delicious food at the end.

Play games

So many children are obsessed with video games these days. However, it’s important to limit your little one’s screen time while they’re home. Play other games with your kids while their schools are closed. Dust off some classic board games that your children might not be familiar with. Puzzles are another great option for kiddos while they’re home from school. Puzzles force people to use their critical thinking skills and challenge themselves. Play some physical games, too, to get your children up and moving. You can still practice social distancing while playing frisbee in the backyard.

Keep up with their studies

It’s essential to remember that this situation is temporary. One day, your kids will return to school and everything will return to normal. Since this is a temporary situation, you must ensure that your kids stay on top of their studies. If your child’s school is doing e-learning, stay up-to-date on their lesson plans. If their schools aren’t certified for e-learning, it’s arguably even more critical to keep your youngsters’ minds sharp. Read to them and perform simple math problems. You’ll both be grateful you did this when schools re-open.

There are a ton of ways to entertain your kids during school closures. Yes, everyone will get stir crazy from time to time. Yet, you should be transparent with your children during this unprecedented time in history. Hopefully, they’ll understand the importance of staying inside.
