Worried about the heat becoming just too overwhelming? Luckily, you can always make yourself a quick summer drink to help you deal with the heat. To make things easier for you, here are six such summer drinks that are perfect for helping you cool off!
-
Lassi
If you’re not keen on having alcoholic drinks, then this Indian drink is the perfect choice for you. All you need to do is blend ice cubes, yogurt, and salt or sugar (depending on your taste) together for about a minute. Once it’s done, it’s ready to drink!
For variations, you can always add more spices to it or add your favorite fruit to the blender when making it. Alternatively, you can use flavored yogurt to customize the drink’s flavor.
-
Big Red Margarita
This is a deliciously red twist to a classic margarita, and it’s definitely for adults only. For this recipe, you’ll need tequila, watermelon liquor, blue curacao, grenadine, red creme soda, salt, and a lime wedge. To make it, prepare your glass with a salt and lime juice rim.
Then, add ice, tequila, watermelon liqueur, red creme soda, and grenadine. Stir gently, pour into glasses, and pour a little blue curacao over each drink. Garnish with a lime wedge, and serve!
-
Pineapple Ginger Ale
Another non-alcoholic option, this drink is great for kids who love the taste of summer and feel left out with the adults sipping on piña coladas. To make it, combine ginger ale and pineapple juice. Then, garnish each glass with a triangle-cut of pineapple and serve!
You can also make an alcoholic variant by adding a little rum to each glass before serving.
-
Classic Mojito
No summer is complete without a classic mojito and for good reason. You’ll need lime juice, rum, soda water, simple syrup, and mint to make this drink.
To make, first, muddle the mint. Then, use a cocktail shaker to mix it with the lime juice, rum, and simple syrup. Pour into a glass, top each glass with soda water, and serve!
-
Espresso Slushie
For the adult who is low on energy and is staying away from hard drinks, this beverage is the perfect substitute for hot coffee. Though this drink is a bit more involved, we promise it will have all your friends raving!
To make, combine sugar and water over high heat until all the sugar dissolves. Then, remove the liquid, add espresso to it, and let it steep for 10 minutes. Strain the mixture to get rid of espresso particles, and add lemon juice and lemon zest.
Place the liquid into your freezer, and check back every 30 minutes to crush it and prevent it from freezing solid. After about 2 hours, pull it out and spoon it into glasses. Add some heavy cream to each glass before serving.
-
Aperol Spritz
Another classic cocktail, this is just as easy to make as a mojito. All you need is 3 parts sparkling wine, 2 parts Aperol, and 1 part soda water. Once you’ve got your ingredients handy, you simply need to mix them together, add ice, and serve!
These drinks are sure to keep you cool and comfortable through the worst of the summer heat. Try them out with your family or friends, and we’re sure you’ll enjoy this summer like no other!
