Taking Proper Care of Your Hair: 6 Beauty Tips to Follow

by RAKI WRIGHT

Your hair is one of the most important aspects of your appearance. It can make you look more put together, or less so.

It can add volume and body, or it can make you look like you’ve just stepped out of a wind tunnel. The right haircut and hairstyle for your face shape and hair texture are essential to looking good. But even if you have the perfect cut, that doesn’t mean you don’t have to take care of your hair properly to keep it looking healthy and shiny. Here are six tips that will help you keep your hair looking its best at all times.

Don’t Wash Your Hair Every Day

Despite what you may have heard, washing your hair every day is bad for it. It can strip away the natural oils that keep your hair healthy, and it can also damage the hair shaft. The best hair washing schedule will depend on your hair type, but most people can get away with washing their hair two-three times a week. However, if you have particularly oily hair, or you must wash your hair every day for any other reason, make sure to use a gentle, sulfate-free shampoo to avoid further damage. A new and innovative way to clean your hair is a solid shampoo. Unlike traditional liquid shampoos, solid shampoos are made with natural ingredients and essential oils that nourish and protect your hair. Solid shampoos, for instance, ones from Fossette Paris, are also vegan and cruelty-free, so you can feel good about using them. These kinds of shampoos are also very easy to use; simply wet your hair, lather the shampoo on your hands, and apply it to your scalp. Massage the shampoo into your scalp for a few minutes, then rinse thoroughly. You may also use a leave-in conditioner as well. According to a top hair salon in Dubai, it is especially important to condition the hair if it is color-treated, as it can help to protect the color that will otherwise fade quickly.

Use The Right Toning Products

If you have color-treated hair, keeping it in the right tone can be a challenge. If you want to avoid having to color your hair as often, invest in some good toning products. This will help to keep your hair looking fresh and vibrant in between coloring. However, the wrong toning drop can cause your hair to become brassy or orange, so it is important to choose one that is specifically designed for your hair color. For a platinum blonde with an icy finish, go for purple toning drops to help neutralize any yellow tones that may start to show up. If you have light brown or dark blonde hair look for a toner with ash tones to help give your hair a more natural look.

Use a Heat Protectant

If you use any kind of heat styling on your hair, make sure to always use a heat protectant first. This will help to shield your hair from the damage that can be caused by hot tools. Look for a product that contains silicone, as this is an ingredient that is known to help protect the hair shaft. You can also find heat protectants in the form of sprays, oils, and creams. No matter which type you choose, make sure to apply it evenly through your hair before using any hot tools. If possible,  try to let your hair air dry as much as possible, and only use heat styling when necessary.

Be Gentle When Brushing

One of the most common mistakes people make when it comes to their hair is being too rough when brushing it. This can cause breakage, split ends, and general damage to the hair shaft. When your hair is wet, it is especially vulnerable, so be sure to use a wide-toothed comb or a brush with soft bristles. Start at the bottom of your hair and work your way up, gently detangling as you go. Once your hair is dry, you can use a boar bristle brush to help distribute the natural oils from your scalp down the length of your hair. This will help to keep your hair healthy and looking shiny.

Trim Your Ends Regularly

Another important tip for taking care of your hair is to make sure you are trimming your ends regularly. This will help to prevent split ends, which can travel up the hair shaft and cause damage. How often you need to trim your hair will depend on how quickly it grows, as well as the health of your ends. If you have dry or damaged ends, you may need to trim them more frequently. A good rule of thumb is to get a trim every six to eight weeks. However, if your hair is healthy and grows quickly, you may be able to stretch it to 10-12 weeks between trims.

Don’t Forget The Scalp Massage

Finally, don’t forget to give yourself a scalp massage regularly. This will help to stimulate blood flow and can promote hair growth. It can also help to relieve any stress or tension you may be feeling. Scalp massages are easy to do, and you can even do them in the shower while you are shampooing your hair. Simply use your fingertips to massage your scalp in a circular motion for a few minutes. This is a relaxing way to end your day, and it can help you to have healthier happier hair. You may also want to look for a shampoo that contains peppermint oil, as this can help to stimulate the scalp.

As you can see, taking good care of your hair is not that difficult. Just follow these simple tips, and you will have healthy, beautiful hair in no time. Not only will your hair look better, but it will also be stronger and less likely to break. So, start implementing these tips into your hair care routine today and enjoy the benefits for years to come.
