#Fall4Mushrooms and Celebrate National Mushroom Month in September!

september-national-mushroom-month

This month, Celebrate National Mushroom Month and #Fall4Mushrooms  to rediscover all that the amazing fungi has to offer!

Mushrooms are:

  • Fat-free
  • Low-calorie
  • Nutrient-dense
  • Low in sodium;
  • PLUS they contain natural antioxidants and are the only fresh fresh fruit or vegetable with Vitamin D.
With fall just around the corner, we’re super excited about creating seasonal dishes that taste delicious and nutritious.
My favorite ways to eat mushrooms:
  • Red Lobster(R)’s Stuffed Mushrooms
  • Chicken Lo Mein
  • Outback Steakhouse(R)’s Alice Springs Chicken
  • Carabba(R)’s Pasta Weezy
  • Pepperoni & Mushroom Pizza
  • Beef Stroganoff
It’s no wonder they are considered Nature’s Hidden Treasure!
Mushrooms: Nutritious, Versatile, & Blendable

Mushrooms are a great way to get more vegetables onto the dinner plate and follow MyPlate guidelines, thanks to their versatility. It’s easy to make half the plate veggies by blending mushrooms and meat n classic dishes, such as burgers, taco, pizza and more.

Mushrooms are low in sodium, plus their umami quality counter balances saltiness so less salt can be used in preparation of a dish.
Mushrooms are grown indoors, so they are always in season and ready to use.
Mushrooms can be an everyday kitchen ingredient to add an extra special touch to foods (chicken, pasta, rice, meat, potatoes); in addition, mushrooms fit into today’s food trends (simple, natural, healthier foods, basic and satisfying).

Essential & vital food for our body. All in one. There are different types of mushroom carrying different healthy ingredients. Medically & evidence is mounting that having mushrooms in the diet complements vegetables and offers unique health benefits.
