As a first-time parent, you will probably be excited to welcome your baby home. A perky little nursery should be on top of your checklist.

A dedicated nursery will help you attain a convenient changing room and a storage area for them. Moreover, you will love to gift the kid a lovely place to grow up. Figuring out the perfect nursery decor does not need to be complex. You only need to follow some simple tips to design a perfect space for your little one. Here are some you can try as a first-time parent.

Pick the right color scheme

The foremost thing you need to think about is picking the apt color scheme for the nursery. The best idea is to stick with neutrals while planning the decor palette. They are classic, calming, easy to match the furniture, and do not impose unwanted gender norms on your child. With such a scheme, you can also make things fun by using wallpapers, murals, and framed prints.

Get lots of storage

It is always good to have a lot of storage for the stuff you buy for your little one. Having dedicated storage for things will help you from tripping over something while you are walking your baby to sleep. Go for a mix of open and closed storage for more options and flexibility over time. You can also opt for shelves to place decorative items, photos, and books.

Play with accessories

Playing with accessories is the best way to pep up your nursery decor. You can invest in a pretty lamp to brighten up the space. Decorate the ceilings with glow-in-the-dark stars or use cute cushions in the shape of the moon and stars to align with the cloud room decor theme. You can pick cloud silicon lamps and perky LED lights to complete the look. Just make sure everything complements perfectly!

Think long-term

Time flies and needs quick changes, so it is advisable not to get anything that is permanent. Choose furniture with adjustable heights to use conveniently when your baby starts to sit and stand later. Pick timeless designs for built-ins that fulfill all your baby’s purposes now and later. Also, do not forget to leave space for full-sized beds to switch the baby cot later. Avoid spending mindlessly and invest smartly while shopping.

Prioritize safety

Baby-proofing should be a priority for nursery decor. When picking a spot for a crib, ensure that it is far from the window to restrict the baby from climbing out. Keep lotions, creams, and other supplies in the drawer out of reach. Use tight-fitted mattresses and a sheet for safe sleeping space for the little one. Avoid using heavy mirrors and picture frames that can harm your child. Do not forget to use soft furnishings for the safety of your little one in the nursery.

So, are you excited to try these tips for welcoming your first baby? Do not stress as you do not need to make it look perfect all at once. Take your time and choose whatever suits your sweet baby’s comfort and needs.
