Is Vaping Less Harmful Than Smoking?

by RAKI WRIGHT

It has been some time now that the concept of living on an e cigarette has been stated as safe, in comparison to smoking conventional cigarettes. There is a boost in the use of e cigarettes and even though they are considered “less harmful”, they are not completely safe.

E cigarettes are accessible in various forms and they are not an alternative for conventional cigarettes, which our people have made it. These cigarettes were used by people who wanted to call quits on their habit of smoking. As it cannot be done instantly, vaping helps people to gradually get rid of the addiction that tobacco causes.

What are E-cigarettes?

E-cigarettes are known as electronic cigarettes and come in forms like pen and mods. They might appear as highlighter pens or even flash drives. This makes it easier for users to hide it off, which is not supported as it can cause teens to indulge in this habit. The major difference between a conventional cigarette and an e-cigarette is that the electronic ones are free of tobacco. A liquid is heated in the electronic cigarette, instead of tobacco, which is the core reason why it is considered to be safer.

Is Vaping actually harmless?

No it is not. Vaping is not harmless, although it does lessen the damage, in comparison to conventional cigarettes. People often assume that e-cigarettes, like those available at Online Smoke, are harmless because they do not contain tobacco. However, we need to look beyond this one ingredient. It is not only tobacco alone that causes potentially strong and life threatening diseases.

The scope of illnesses that can be caused by conventional cigarettes, is a lot more than e-cigarettes. For example, your traditional cigarettes can cause breast and lung cancer, heart diseases, emphysema and many other problems. On the other hand, vaping causes seizures and serious lung damage. In the beginning, it was not considered possible for e-cigarettes to cause a lot of damage. However, over the past years, studies have proven that vaping does have serious side effects too. As the users have increased, the problems now unfolded much properly.

Here are some recommendations that the experts have made for people who tend to switch to vaping instead of smoking:

  • Don’t use e cigarettes that contain THC.

  • Don’t borrow a vape from your friend or a family member. Never use another individual’s vape or e cigarette.

  • Never add a substance on your own, to the vape. It can be life damaging too.

Is vaping addictive?

Yes it is. Why? This is because e cigarettes still contain nicotine in them. They might not have tobacco in them, but nicotine is equally addictive. Studies also suspect that e cigarettes might deliver more nicotine than a tobacco containing product. Although there are still a lot of speculations about it; there is room for this to be true as people find it extremely hard to quit vaping too. Also, extra strength cartridges are now easily accessible with higher concentrations too. So anyone who doesn’t feel satisfied with the lower dosage, has an easy way out to grab more.

FINAL THOUGHTS

So is vaping less harmful than conventional smoking or is it a better option or is it safer? Well, it is not.

Many people have used vaping to just quit on their smoking habits and easily manage to quit vaping too. However, with the growing rate of vapers these days, it is obvious that it is equally addictive and hard to quit. But if you are trying to quit smoking, then you can use  a vape with a lower concentration to switch the habit and gradually drop it.
