Is one of your New Year's resolutions is to strengthen your marriage? These five tips show you how to improve marriage.Resolutions to Strengthen Your Marriage This Year

New year, new you? It’s always a good idea to think about self-improvement, but many couples forget about ways they can strengthen their relationship.

Whether you’re having some trouble or your marriage is in a great place, it’s never a bad idea to make strides at improvement. A survey by Varo Money Inc. found that in 2018, some of the most popular New Year’s resolutions were regarding intimacy.

Interestingly, 25% of people made it a resolution to have more sex and 7% said they wanted to start a family. No matter what stage you are at in your relationship, here are some resolutions that could help bring you and your spouse even closer this year.

Make time for intimacy

Many couples are perfectly content with the amount of intimacy in their relationship, but plenty of others are not. Regardless, it is rarely a bad idea to introduce even more intimacy into your marriage.

This year, make it your resolution to set aside certain times for making love. This is completely dependent on your situation, but maybe pick a certain day of the week to hire a sitter and get it on.

If you’re okay with the frequency, you could always make it your resolution to try something new in the bedroom or make more time for foreplay. You’ll just want to make sure that you are prepared.

If you or your spouse suffer from erectile dysfunction, Sildenafil can have you ready in no time at all. Although, more options are available in the market. If you’re wondering which is the best between Sildenafil or Tadalafil, research Numan’s products to learn which works best for you.

Go on surprise dates

After years of marriage, it can be difficult to make time for date night. More often than not, the typical date consists of dinner and a movie. This isn’t a bad thing and can be tons of fun!

However, whisking away your spouse for a surprise date once in a while can add excitement and adventure to your relationship. Make sure ahead of time that your partner won’t be occupied, plan out something fun, and then enjoy the look on their face as you embark on your journey.

There are plenty of surprise date ideas for all situations, budgets and timeframes.

Take over chore duty

Everyone knows that chores can be a drag; they may even be a point of contention between you and your spouse! In fact, a Pew Research poll found that 56% of married adults said that sharing household chores was “very important” for a successful marriage.

A good balance between chore duties is sure to make each partner feel like their time and effort is equally valuable. Furthermore, even the simplest of gestures like taking over dish duty for a night can mean the world to your partner.

Conversely, when your spouse is the one doing the chores, let them know how much you appreciate it.

Write love notes or poems

Actually taking the time to sit down and write something by hand will show how much you care, and your spouse is sure to recognize that. Whether it’s a simple note that you slip into their bag before they walk out the door, or a full blown love poem, it’s always a good idea to remind your partner of the reasons you love them.

As an added bonus, not only will your spouse feel extra loved, but letters can make a great keepsake to hold onto for years to come. If you don’t consider yourself a great writer, tips for writing a love letter can help get the creative juices flowing.

Try new things

Throughout your marriage, you are sure to get to know your partner well. You probably spend a lot of time on each other’s interests or hobbies, but this can become mundane and tiresome after a while.

Trying a new restaurant or activity can be a great way to spruce up your marriage and add some spark. Just make sure it’s new to both of you, that way you get to experience it for the first time together.

Who knows? You may just find your new favorite hobby or spot for an adventure! This same tip also applies to the bedroom as well, among other ways to keep your relationship fresh.
