How To Choose The Right Gift Hampers For This Upcoming Holiday Season?

by RAKI WRIGHT

The holidays are typically supposed to be happy times, but it can be daunting when you have to pick gifts for your loved ones. Nothing can be more overwhelming than trying to find the right gift for a special someone. However, there’s no need to worry, as gift hampers are now back.

Thankfully, those cringe-worthy old gift baskets are no more. They used to be synonymous with stale crackers, old chocolate, and almost rancid fruit. With the retail market for gifts valued at a staggering $62 billion in 2019 globally, there is no shortage of gifting ideas this holiday season.

Gift hampers are one such excellent gift idea. They are similar to the gift basket, minus the generic and thoughtless gifts. Instead, gift hampers can be personalized to suit each recipient and make their day.

Here’s how you can choose the right gift hamper and ensure that your gift is the best among all.

Begin Early

The biggest mistake you can make is starting your shopping at the last minute. Gifts are best when they are well planned. Therefore, it would not be too early if you began thinking about gifts as early as October. It will give you enough time to make changes.

Think About The Receiver

Sometimes, you tend to overthink and forget about the person receiving the gift. So, the first thing to do is list the names of people you will be gifting. This allows you to plan for gift hampers that suit each receiver’s interests.

Think About Demographics

The next task is to consider basic details such as gender, sex, age, location, etc., on the above list. This helps you organize your shopping based on categories. While it may seem stereotypical, gender-based gifts are still practical most of the time.

For example, the self-grooming department carries shaving kits and waxing strips. You do not want to be gifting waxing strips to the men on your list. Nor do you want to gift a shaving kit to a female colleague or classmate.

Think About Habits And Rituals

Knowing about someone’s habits helps you look for more appropriate gifts. For example, you know which department to visit if you have an aunt who tends to her garden every day. Therefore, adding habits, rituals, hobbies, etc., to the list helps decide appropriate gifts.

Think About Trends And Fads

In the present day, age is no bar for trends and fads. Therefore, it is best to be abreast of the latest trends and fads. For example, in the home décor department, the minimalist theme is out, and the maximalist theme is in for 2021.

Think About Your Relationship with the Recipient

You can modify your gift hamper based on how close you are to the receiver. Obviously, you will not want to spend the same amount on a gift for a work colleague as you would for your sibling or close friend.

Additionally, you can choose more personal gifts like chocolates, candies, clothing, etc., for close acquaintances, but you must stick to generic items like wine, wallet, belts, etc., when gifting your boss or manager.

Gifting during the holiday season can be fun if you plan it right. Keep the aforementioned points in mind while you look for gift hampers for the upcoming holiday season. Remember, most of the time, it’s the thought that counts more than the cost.
