Activities for Easter don’t have to be expensive or complicated. In fact, you’ll have the best memories when the activities are simple and inexpensive.

Make memories with your family this Easter by decorating Easter eggs, filling an Easter basket, and spending time together doing these easy activities for Easter.

Easter is one of those holidays that I vividly remember from my childhood – decorating Easter eggs, a new dress from Granny, and an overflowing Easter basket filled with lots of candies and a few toys.

I’ve aimed to provide the same experience for my children.

Easter weekend usually marks the beginning of Spring Break around here. So, I try to create a mini-staycation in our local area.

Here is a list of easy activities for Easter you may want to consider:

    1. Make an Easter Egg Basket. You can do this the day before Easter for a creative, fun, messy time. Wondering what to do with all those eggs? Recipes for Boiled Eggs: How to Use Those Leftover Easter Eggs.
    2. Am I the only one who has those photos with th Easter bunny? You can find him at the mall, portrait studios, or even at your home with the help of some photo props. With digital cameras and smartphones, you can often take your own high quality photos and print them yourself.
    3. What better way to enjoy a beautiful Spring day than with an Easter egg hunt? Typically held the day before Easter or sometimes the weekend before Easter, these events are fun for all age groups. Wondering how to find one in your area? My church along with other local churches are hosting hunts on various days. I was also able to find them through the Parks & Recreation and other civic organizations.
    4. Make an Easter craft you found on Pinterest or visit an Easter-inspired exhibit at a local art, science, history, or transportation museum. I was able to find kid’s Easter craft sessions at Michael’s and AC Moore. These were held two Saturdays before Easter. Jo Ann Fabrics is holding a craft event the weekend after Easter. There also may be fun activities at your local library.
    5. Watch Easter movies like Hop, Rise of the Guardians, It’s the Easter Beagle Charlie Brown, Here Comes Peter Cottontail, The Easter Story, or A Very Veggie Easter. {Amazon affiliate links.}
    6. Read Easter books to explain the true meaning behind Easter or where the Easter bunny character originated.
    7. Listen to an Easter-themed storytime session at your local library.Make memories with your family this Easter by decorating Easter eggs, filling an Easter basket, and spending time together doing these easy activities for Easter.
