For any couple looking to celebrate their wedding anniversary during a pandemic it can seem as though your options are limited and the things that you can do will be restricted. Although this may be the case with certain things, there are still lots of options available to you both to ensure that you have a memorable and romantic anniversary celebration! Also by celebrating your anniversary during a pandemic, it makes it all the more memorable and gives you the opportunity to think outside of the box and do things that are a little different to what you would usually do. It might be a nice idea, as this anniversary will be different to any other, to take reminders of it. You might want to take lots of photos and get these printed to make a photo collage, or perhaps record little videos and put them together to create a montage of your day together. We’ve put together some ideas below to help you make things extra special when celebrating a wedding anniversary during the pandemic.

Your wedding anniversary is a chance to celebrate the love that you have for your partner so celebrating your anniversary during a pandemic can be a good thing as it means you will have more time to spend together. With current lockdowns its means that people have been spending a lot more time together, however look at this as a positive thing and focus on why you fell in love with your partner in the first place.

Gift An Amazing Wedding Video Greeting

Wishing your dear ones the best with lots of memories by sending a surprise video greeting. Making a video montage as a gift for a wedding anniversary can be an overwhelming task.  Whether it’s your 1st anniversary or your 50th anniversary, video greetings are the best among all. Spread the love and joy to your lovely spouse. With the help of friends and family, you can create an anniversary video greeting gifts full of heartfelt messages. It’s the kind of emotions, a unique gift that never forgets and the perfect way to show your love.

Make your partner breakfast in bed

We all know that a good start to any anniversary or special occasion is to start the day with breakfast in bed. There’s something so special about enjoying an extra hour in bed, with a cup of coffee and your favourite breakfast with your loved one! If you aren’t into cooking then you could always buy something pre-made, perhaps some pastries and make your partners favourite morning drink. It might be a nice idea to take it in turns as to who makes the breakfast, so that it isn’t always one person’s job.

Re-watch your wedding video & look at your wedding photographs

After you have enjoyed breakfast in bed together it might be a really nice idea to watch your wedding video together and reminisce about the day. Being in lockdown and not being able to see your friends and family will make this even more special, and will make you really appreciate those people even more when you next see them. If you didn’t have a wedding video, you could always look through old wedding pictures and re-read messages that your friends and family wrote in your guest book from your wedding day.

Enjoy an evening meal together

A nice thing to do in the evening might be to cook your partner’s favourite meal, or if you both want the day off from cooking you could choose to order your favourite takeaway instead. You could make it even more special by having your wedding music playing in the background and re-create your first dance together! Depending on when your anniversary is taking place you could always enjoy a meal outside somewhere perhaps sit by the river or on a beach and just enjoy each other’s company.

Visit somewhere virtually

We all know that travel at the moment isn’t possible, especially a trip abroad or even a nice hotel stay at the moment. As you can’t physically go anywhere you might want to see what online activities there are available. You could take an online class together or learn something new. This is a great opportunity to learn some new skills which can be progressed upon when the world opens up again and you can go visit new places in person! There are lots of things you can do from taking a dance class, to touring an art gallery or even learning a new craft. Do something fun that you both have never done before!

Be creative with your gifts

Many shops are closed however most of these do have online shops and a lot of smaller businesses are on platforms such as Facebook or Etsy. When you are looking for a gift for your partner try to support local, smaller businesses in your search as these will be the ones that have struggled the most during lockdowns. Perhaps you could look at buying flowers for your partner from the florist you used for your wedding!

If you are creative you might want to give each other the task of making a gift for each other instead of buying something online. This is a fun way to be imaginative and try to make something that reflects your love for your partner.
