You don’t have to be an interior designer to use these bedroom decor ideas in your home. Turn your master bedroom into a relaxing haven at the end of a long day.

Our homes are the sanctuary we look forward to relaxing in.  There are certain rooms that are considered more important than others.  The bedroom is one of those places where we spend most of our time and hanging some A1 canvas prints on the wall is a great way to let your personality shine through in a space that is yours.

Having fun decorating our space should be the norm.  For some, it can be a challenge.  Everyone does not have a flair for interior design.  The key is to look for items or ideas that describe you and the things that interest you.

There are easy projects that can fit in any budget.  For example, a fresh coat of paint, new flooring, window treatments or decorative doors all add a facelift to any room.  Decorating the bedroom is where you can let your imagination run free.

Decorative Doors

An item that most homeowners fail to consider is the doors in the bedroom.  Specifically, the closet doors and doors leading to the master bathroom can be replaced while adding an innovative dimension.  However, changing the main door to your bedroom is a daring move as well.

There are a myriad of options, but the barn door is the latest interior design item out there.  Finding barn door hardware is a simple internet search for a provider in your area.  They have a variety of rollers, textures, accents and colors to choose from.

Installation is an easy task or let a professional do it for you.  Once you add this novel idea to your bedroom, you may want to place them in other parts of the house.

Paint

Using paint to change the décor is a simple process.  Finding paints with a wide variety of colors can be found at any paint store.  The types of paint, paint rollers and brushes can bring a new perspective to your idea.

A latex paint has a shine or glow effect that accentuates the lighting, while flat or matte paints are more subtle.  The latest type of paint is textured and can include sand, or a thicker composition similar to stucco.  Once you decide on the paint and color, consider the tools to apply it.

There are rollers with engraved designs that go further by adding a unique accent to the walls.  Wallpaper borders or a thin line of a different color of paint at the top can add flair as well.  Remember, before any painting project starts have all the items needed.

New Flooring

Changing the flooring in the bedroom can be accomplished by adding a decorative rug.  With the variety of options available, it can be difficult to settle on one. In this case, try using more than one with different sizes and shapes.

Replacing the existing carpet is always an option, if you do not mind it being different from the rest of the house.  Tile and hardwood are options that last longer than carpets and rugs.  Although, rugs can be added to any tile or hardwood flooring, but make sure to use slip resistant tape to avoid accidents.

Window Treatments

New curtains just like a fresh coat of paint have a way of changing the atmosphere of a bedroom.  Play with the colors to give more personality to the existing décor.  By adding valances or sheers, a layered look can be created.

Blinds are another option although, keeping them dust free can be work.  Curtains are easily cleaned by the dry cleaners or washer depending on the variety used.

These are a few interior design tips to help change your bedroom.  All are affordable possibilities.

Making changes can be done over time or as a big project.  Planning before you begin will make for a smooth process as your bedroom takes on a new look.

Whatever is decided, enjoy the finished product.

I had found a dead moon shell and it was quite stained with algae. I followed your directions and I’m SO pleased! it looks just beautiful! All the green staining is gone, and all the subtle tans and golds on the outside of the shell are still there. It looks great! THANK YOUrug cleaning fayetteville nc

It adds like 16 extra unnecessary hours to a job. Also guilty of not painting the ceilings and completely regretting it later. Lazy. Do you mind if I put a link to this post on my blog? I would love to share as I am painting my stairway hall from top to floors and you have a very witty tutorial here.carpet cleaning fayetteville
