A girls’ night doesn’t just have to be a night out on the streets. Sometimes the best girls’ nights involve staying at someone’s house.

The great thing about organizing a girls’ night at your home is that you have more power over your gathering. However, at the same time, it can be intimidating having to be responsible for putting together everything on your own.

Below are some tips for organizing the best girls’ night at your house.

  • Pick a Theme

Girls’ nights are funnest when there’s a theme involved. Use the theme to dictate your decor and even specify the dress code for you and your guests.

Some themes for girls’ night might include Alice in Wonderland, Gatsby, beach party, Taco Tuesday, outer space, or Disney princess. You can get super creative with any theme you pick, whether it be a very specific theme or a generic theme (e.g., neon colors).

  • Select the Right Music

Don’t just turn on a radio station or blast a video with a generic compilation of songs. Instead, take the time to craft the perfect playlist for your girls. Add popular hits, new songs, underground tunes, and even oldies but goodies. If you’re having a particular theme for your girls’ night, select songs that are relevant to that. For instance, pick 50’s songs for a 50’s-themed gathering.

To set the mood right, aim for positive, energizing, or chill songs. Avoid super slow music or songs featuring depressing lyrics. Keep the energy right to keep your guests content, lively, easygoing, and positive.

  • Serve a Meal Based on the Theme

Nothing makes a party theme more exciting than making the food coordinate with the theme.

Having an under the sea theme? Serve sushi, a fish-shaped pizza, or fish and chips as your main course. Offer fun sea-themed snacks and apps like Goldfish crackers or shrimp skewers. Italian night? Serve some delectable Italian dishes like fettuccine alfredo or spaghetti and meatballs. Offer bruschetta, freshly-baked breadsticks, or olive tapenade on the side.

  • Offer a Sweet Treat

What’s a meal without a treat? Make build-your-own dessert pizzas with the gals, do a search for great cookies near me to serve, coordinate some desserts with your girls’ night theme, or offer a classic sundae with simple toppings. When it comes to dessert, the options are truly endless. You can go as simple or as fancy as you’d like.

  • Don’t Forget the Activities

Activities can be based on the theme of your girls’ night or be specific based on your attendees. Potential activities can be as simple as Truth or Dare or playing video games together, or you can spice things up with activities like a cupcake-decorating competition, a dance-off, or having a little spa day together inside the home.

Conclusion

Organizing a girls’ night seems easy. However, to truly make it a night to remember, the latter tips will come in handy. From choosing a fun theme to offering a delicious treat, you’re bound to have the best night with your girls.
