Many students are overwhelmed at the prospect of more school after earning their bachelor’s degree, but truth be told, you won’t find a quality management position unless you hold an MBA.

Today’s workplace requires education; even administrative assistants must have a bachelor’s degree. If you want to be more than a paper-pusher, you need to further your studies.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reports management occupations as a whole will grow 6 percent by 2024, and the pay for most of these jobs is over $100,000. Here are five hot careers for those with an MBA.

1. Accounting

If numbers are your game, you will find better accounting job opportunities with a master’s degree than just a bachelor’s degree. If you secure your degree through a program such as UAB’s mba degree online, you have the opportunity to work in many different specialized accounting fields, including being an actuary, auditor, budget analyzer, compliance manager, forensic accountant, risk analyst, tax accountant, or treasurer. The sky is the limit for accountants with master’s degrees and many of these jobs hit the six-figure salary mark.

2. Business Operations

In a 2016, report, U.S. News also touted business operations as an excellent career choice. When managing business operations, you will be at the heart of the company. You will communicate with all team players and organize how your department or the entire business runs. As such, you must have strong communication and negotiation skills, and earning your master’s degree can help you learn how to work with internal and external persons, such as those in the supply chain, union leaders, and vendors. Imagine negotiating employment contracts that work for everyone.

There are many Business administration master degree options available.

Online MBA degree programs are also being made available by universities, like the online MBA from Carroll U where you can have access to the best education available at your convenience.

3. Compliance Manager

Regulations change with new state and federal government policies. State and federal government policies change with new administrations. If you love to be at the heart of regulatory compliance, look into a career as a compliance officer. Your management career could encompass accounting, health care, legal, technology, or another specialty, and you will be at the heart of ensuring a business remains within its legal and ethical boundaries. In fact, you may be in charge of writing the operation policies and procedures that keep everything in line.

4. Financial Manager

If you decide to earn your master’s degree in finance, you can look forward to a career as a financial manager. The U.S. News reports that this job earns, on average, $117,990 per year, and you will be responsible for everything financial. You will confirm the accuracy of all financial records and produce all financial reports. You will work with auditors and tax authorities to ensure all tax filings are in compliance with regulations. You will make all strategic financial decisions for the company.

5. Health Services Manager

The medical industry is one of the largest growing industries in the United States. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the job demand for medical and health services managers will grow 17 percent by 2014. Those working in this field can expect to earn a little over $96,000 a year, and if you’re employed by a large health care organization, you’ll likely jump to six figures quickly. You will ensure the health care organization operates efficiently and within all compliance regulations.

Still think it’s not worth it to earn your MBA? As you can see, this degree opens the door to dynamic careers that will grow within the next eight years. In fact, some of these careers will be the top growing careers in the nation. Don’t hold yourself back by stopping your education at your bachelor’s degree. When you move forward with earning your MBA, you open the door to management opportunities of all types, and if you want to get into management, you’ll need that master’s degree on your resume.
