Having a family movie night can be a tradition in your family. It is fun, and children of all ages enjoy it, and you make beautiful memories from it.

Also, take this opportunity to spend time with your family and enjoy the new classic and film favorites. You do not just have to watch cable TV, as you can now stream almost anything on the piratebay for your family movie nights. Plus, it is an exciting way to expose your children to different things and ideas. Here are ideas you can consider as you choose movies for movie night.

  • Set a theme for the month

One way to go about the idea of a family movie night is choosing to have a theme every month. As every month starts, pick a theme for your family for the month. Involve your children in selecting it. It can be what you wear, the movies you watch, the snacks, the color, among other things. This should be exciting for everyone to plan and arrange. For instance, in October, the theme for the movies can be scary or ghost movies. But be ready to sleep with your kids after for a while. While in December, the ideal theme is Christmas classics, and so on.

  • Watch animated films only

After trying different family movies with your family, you will know what everyone loves. But, you can watch different movie genres every movie night. Today, there are several animated films that you can try out. Check the latest release or the ones available for the last five years. You can watch the trailers of at least five to choose one. Children of all ages love these movies, and most of them today are fun to watch, even for older kids. Some of the favorite animations you can try are Sing, Beauty and the Beast, and Rango. Also, others are a series type of movies, like Madagascar series, Shrek series, and ice age series, among many others.

  • Consider the ages of your children

Family movie night is not the same if one of the family members feels left out. Therefore, you need to choose movies everyone will enjoy and understand. Thus, you need to consider the ages of your children, and you can pick two movies for every night if their ages are far apart. Watch the juvenile film first with the whole family. During the break, put the younger ones to bed and watch the other with the older children.

  • Take a vote

The parents are the ones to choose the movies or at least consider the best ones to watch. Therefore, after the parents narrow down to at least three to four movie choices, get the family in the selection process through voting and decide the best movie to watch. It is best to take the vote days to the movie night to get enough time to download or prepare, and in case of any disagreements, you can vote again until you get to a decision.

  • Check out a classic and continue with a series

To keep things exciting for your family. Choose two different movie types for every movie night. Watch one classic and opt to continue a series or start a new one. Most of the classic movies your kids are yet to watch them. Introduce one of your favorite childhood classics and enjoy repeating it with them. Some favorites are Mary Poppins, a Christmas story, the parent trap, among many others. Also, try out the series of movies, and you can choose the Harry Potter series, Jaws, the Twilight saga, among many others.

To conclude, with the above ideas, try to plan a lovely family movie night. Always plan earlier by picking a time and day every week or monthly. Also, ensure the seating or lounge area is comfortable with cozy pillows and bean bags. Turn off or keep off any distractions like cell phones. Finally, buy movie theater candy or make popcorn with different flavors according to your family’s liking. Choose to have a consistent family movie night and create a bonding, fun, and memorable experience.
