You Need To Properly Warm Up Before Doing Your Exercises

If there is one upside to the current pandemic that we find ourselves in, it is a fact that more people are trying to eat better and they are trying to incorporate exercise into their daily routine.

The difficulty with doing exercise is that it is extremely difficult to motivate yourself and to get started in the first place. One of the biggest mistakes that many people make is to try to do too much exercise too quickly and they get injured as a direct result. The warm-up is just as important as the exercise routine itself and you should spend a minimum of 10 minutes every single time making sure that your body is limber. You do not want to be getting injured at the beginning of your new exercise routine because you might have to wait a couple of weeks to recover and then your motivational levels will be at an all-time low.

The key is to not have to visit the Bella Vista Physio – The Movement Mill because you have an injury, but you also need to remember that you just don’t go to a physio when you are injured. You should also go to see them to make sure that you receive the necessary help to provide you with the flexibility to undertake any exercise routine. The warm-up is essential and here are some of the benefits of doing so.

* The chances of injury are lessened – If you do a proper warm-up routine for a bare minimum of 10 minutes before you start into the main exercise, this will get your body ready so that it is more flexible and this should definitely reduce the chances of experiencing an injury later on in your routine. Your physio can provide you with advice on a proper warm-up routine and how you can avoid seeing them in the first place. This will allow you to relax and de-stress after a hard exercise routine.

* It increases your body temperature – It is important that your muscles are warmed up so that they are ready for the exercise routine. By increasing your body temperature your muscles become more flexible and your body is able to take in more oxygen. It also lets you heart know that it needs to be ready for an intense workout and this puts less strain on your body.

* You are mentally prepared – You need to be prepared for your exercise routine both physically and mentally. If you’re not prepared mentally, there is a real chance that you will give up too early and so doing a proper warm up with stretches included reminds you of why you were there and what you expect to do. There are many different warm-up routines that you can do like stretching and running on the spot. Try to stretch out your hamstrings by touching your toes and this should prepare your legs for what lies ahead. It’s time to change up your life and to become fit again. No one else can do this for you, so you need to motivate yourself and make the necessary changes today.
