People replace pieces of furniture for different reasons. It may be damage from pets/kids or even natural disaster. On the other hand, you probably just want to give your living room a new look. Whatever your reason is, you’ll need furniture pick up services to do proper disposal.

You don’t want to dispose of your old furniture irresponsibly. Therefore, you need to be aware of who can do it for you right. When getting rid of furniture, there are several avenues you can use. Here are some of the main persons that’ll haul your furniture away:

A Furniture Pick Up Company

Top on the list is a furniture pick up agency/company. You want to be sure that the old pieces of furniture you no longer need land in the right hands. Therefore, why not make a call or order a furniture pick up from a professional company?

Dumpster companies that have genuine services in the market can help you with old furniture. Besides, it’s so easy these days to get them to pick up your furniture. All you need to do is to make a brief call explaining what type of junk you have, and they’ll come over to pick it up. Besides, you’ll be more at peace knowing too well that they’ll dispose of the junk appropriately.

Charitable Organizations

Some charitable organizations organize frequent furniture pick up days around different neighborhoods. In rare cases, you’ll have to haul the pieces of furniture to the drop-off location.

The best part about a donation is that you’ll be helping someone else in need. You may no longer need a certain old sofa in the house. However, that old junk item is a blessing to someone else.

There are multiple charity organizations you can cite and donate to. If you can’t get any around your locality, consider going to homeless shelters, thrift stores, and battered women’s residences.

Buyers

Yes, you can actually decide to sell your old piece of furniture, either online or physically. Your old recliner seat might disgust you but will definitely excite someone else. Therefore, instead of disposing of it for free, why not consider adding a few bucks into your pocket.

All you need to do is to head online and get a website offering classifieds/product advertisements. Some of these sites include Craigslist. There’s always someone ready and willing to purchase an item here who’ll show up for furniture pick up.

In case you don’t like the idea of selling your piece online through such websites, you can use social media. Even if nobody in your network is directly interested in the piece of furniture, they might know someone who is.

Another feasible option is to use a trade-in platform. You might need something else that someone has, and trade-in your old furniture for it.

Scrap Dealers

Some of the pieces of furniture you have might have metallic materials on them. You can take those to scrap dealers. Either have them organize a furniture pick up, or take it yourself. They may recycle the old metallic items and use them to repurpose new stuff – even for you.

Some of the scrap sites go as far as recycling steel spring mattresses. However, they’ll probably need you to remove the cloth beforehand. Remember that non-ferrous metals tend to fetch a higher price than their ferrous counterparts. Confused about the difference? Hold a magnet to the piece of metal. If it doesn’t stick, then that’s a non-ferrous metal.

These days you can conveniently find a metal furniture recycling plant in your locality using mobile apps.

Furniture Stores

Although not many of them, some furniture stores can take your old pieces of furniture. All you’ll need to do is to schedule a furniture pick up day, and have their staff come over. However, most of the stores doing this have conditions. For instance, they’ll only haul your old furniture away if they’re bringing you a new one. This is usually an incentive for clients to purchase their pieces of furniture.

In other words, you might have to purchase a new piece of furniture from a store first. Some will charge you for it, while others might add an extra cost. Be sure to ask the store whether or not they offer a free furniture removal service.

A Local School

Some schools accept furniture from homes and well-wishers. You can make an impact in the life of a child by calling the school for furniture pick up. They’ll be glad to take it in, and you’ll have solved your problem of furniture removal.

Final Thoughts

So, out of all of these ways, which one’s the most feasible option? For a fast, easy, safe, and environmentally-friendly way of furniture removal, call in furniture pick up company. However, the choice of which to pick remains at your table. When ready, schedule a furniture pick up earlier on, so that you can get a good quote and speedy services.
