Whether you want to celebrate an occasion in style or simply want to treat yourself to a weekend getaway, with there being so many destinations to choose from, it can be difficult to decide which one to visit. City breaks are becoming more and more popular for the ultimate weekend getaway, regardless of who you are traveling with. So, book your Woking to Heathrow taxi and let’s see where your next weekend getaway should be.

Barcelona

Renowned as one of the world’s best cultural hubs and home to one of the best football teams in the world, Barcelona is packed full of things to see and do on your weekend getaway. Whether you enjoy soaking up the history, taking bike tours or discovering the culture, this city is a beautiful choice for your weekend break.

Rome

Enjoy delicious food in between visiting museums, galleries and renowned architecture and historical monuments. This city should be at the top of your list of weekend getaway locations and you’re sure to have plenty to see and do during your trip. Visit the Colosseum, St. Peter’s Basilica, Pantheon and the Trevi Fountain, or take a bus tour around the city to learn more about the culture and history.

Dublin

Only a short flight away, Dublin is a firm favorite for those looking for a weekend getaway location. The Guinness Storehouse and Jameson Distillery tour are perfect if you want to find out more about where your drink comes from or listen to some traditional Irish music on an Irish pub crawl.

Paris

Whether you want to fly or take the Eurostar so you can drive when you arrive, this list wouldn’t be complete without Paris being on it. With so many key monuments for you to visit that will take your breath away, you may want to extend your trip a couple of days to explore the city in depth. Enjoy the delicious cuisine and dine in front of some of the most beautiful views. Whether you want a weekend getaway with your other half or your family, Paris is the perfect destination choice.

Copenhagen

If you haven’t considered visiting Denmark before, you should for your weekend getaway! Copenhagen is a dynamic, fun and progressive destination that is full of color, detail and beautiful areas to visit. Whilst you’re there, take a trip to the Rosenborg Castle or the Botanical Garden, the Christiansborg Palace, Nyhavn or even Tivoli Gardens, which are guaranteed to not disappoint.

Budapest

If you opt for Budapest for your weekend getaway, the Gellért Baths are one of the grandest baths in the city. This bath and spa center includes an open-air pool, a Finnish sauna, and an effervescent swimming pool. Alternatively, the Fisherman’s Bastion that looks like a medieval monument has plenty of history for you to explore.

Stockholm

Last, but by no means least, on our list is Stockholm, Sweden. During your stay, visit the Monteliusvägen cliff path and experience a romantic moment with your other half as you watch the sunset over the Lake Mälarstrand, after spending your day discovering Tantolunden’s hidden hillside gardens.

Hopefully, these locations will give you some inspiration for your weekend getaway, so you can spend quality time together, whilst encountering a different country. Get booking!
