The fall season is a time of change. The leaves change color and nights grow longer. Your home should also be a place of change.

Decorating your home is a great way to welcome the autumn season and get in the spirit for the fun that awaits—Halloween and Thanksgiving! Follow these tips for decorating your home for the fall and you’ll be sure to get all your guests into the autumn spirit.

Start at Your Door

When decorating your home for the fall, you’ll want to start with a location nobody can miss—not even the mailman. That starting point is your front door. There are so many awesome and creative ways to decorate your door front.

Consider adding a nice doormat. Picking the right doormat can be fun because they usually contain witty quotes on them. You’ll find one to fit the season without a problem. Another great tip for decorating your door front would be to display mini pumpkins around the sides of your door. This gives your home a great look that’ll last you the whole season.

Find Fall Florals

Just like fake mini pumpkins, fall florals are a great tool for decorating. Craft stores are the best places to find fake florals. During the fall season, there are a wide variety of options you can pick and choose from. The best part about these is that they can be relatively placed anywhere. They come in a variety of colors and shades, so don’t be afraid to get creative with these.

Decorate Your Fireplace

Having a fireplace is great for the colder seasons. They keep you warm and toasty. And the benefits of your fireplace’s mantel go beyond their aesthetic appeal—they’re also great for decorating. You can use them for every season and holiday. You can place your fall-colored florals on and around them. Or, you can use them to display a festive centerpiece that fits the occasion. In this case, a pumpkin centerpiece would be truly charming for your home.

Incorporate Plaid

Patterns are great for decorating your home. For the fall season, there’s no better pattern than plaid. It could be due to the fact that most plaid patterns include some shade of black and red. The best part about it is that plaid is perfect for decorating your home. Consider adding a plaid mantel to your dining room table. This will bring that cozy vibe straight into your home.

The possibilities you have for decorating your home for the fall are truly endless. Don’t let it stress you out. These four suggestions are great ways to get everyone into the autumn spirit. Happy decorating!
