Planning For Your First Networking Conference

This post may contain affiliate links. Read full disclosure.

by RAKI WRIGHT

One of my goals as a blogger is to attend a blogging conference.  When the time comes, I will be ready.  I just created Blogger Business Cards in like 5 minutes!  (I guess I could use them as “mommy” cards too…)

Checklist for planning for your first networking conference:

  1. Research conferences in your area.
  2. Seek sponsorships from companies that are a good fit with your blog/company.
  3. Order business cards from Tiny Prints.

Tiny Prints business cards make a great first impression. You can add your personal photos, logos, and design accents to a variety of unique business card formats.  These tips would apply to any type of networking conference, including homeschool conferences, business conferences, or educational conferences.

UPDATE:

Finding  (Blog) Conference Sponsors

I would suggest contacting any companies or brands you’ve already worked with.  They know your capabilities and would be much more likely to financially support your attendance at a blog conference where you can help get the word out about their brand and products/services.  If you don’t have experience in working with brands, you will have to be prepared to sell the advantages the company will experience by sponsoring you.  This could include your stats (pageviews, social media reach, etc.) or plans for helping their presence stand out at the conference.

when it comes to sponsorships how do you suggest going about getting them?? What are the best ways to contact and what information should you be including.
Also I live in Vancouver B.C. and I find it really hard to find any information on any sort of blog conference in my area, is there a directory or anything to find out about them??

    Hi Eschelle,

Thanks for your comment and great questions.

See my updates to the post above.

There weren’t many results for blog conferences in Vancouver, BC. This may be an area you could try to start some networking opportunities in or even put together conferences for bloggers in all niches in Vancouver!
