The nicest aspect about a healthy diet is that there are no restrictions once you grasp the concept of a high protein, high fiber diet combined with a calorie deficit. One of the most common mistakes that people make at the very beginning of their fitness journey is that they cut carbs completely without having the idea that they are the main source of energy.

However, some people willingly decide to cut out sugars because they start feeling bad whenever they intake them. So, if you’ve decided to cut out sweets for any reason and your sweet appetite kicks in, here are some low-carb dessert options to help you enjoy every mouthful guilt-free.

Dark Chocolate Ice Cream

This ice cream is heaven if you want to make your taste buds dance. The rich and bitter taste of dark chocolate combined with vanilla and a hit of vodka for circling the feeling is something that will make your mood rocket. Besides this, have you ever thought of a combination of ice cream and low sugar, apparently an impossible pair? Yet, it works. Even if all we can grant for ice cream is innumerable calories and carbohydrates, it is low carb and pleasant. Here is everything you’ll need to make this dessert.

  • 2 cups of heavy cream
  • 1 ½ cups of unsweetened almond milk
  • ½ cup of dark cocoa powder
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • some chopped, unsweetened dark chocolate
  • 2 tablespoons of vodka
  • ½ tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • some Stevia for taste

In a huge bowl, put some ice and set it aside. In a deep pot, pour heavy cream, Stevia, almond milk, and cocoa powder. Whisk it until all ingredients are combined and the temperature is 170°F. Once the temperature is reached, remove it from the stove. In a small bowl, whisk egg yolks and pour some of the cooked mixtures gradually until the eggs are tempered. When you have finalized this step, put the mixture back on the stove and mix it with the egg yolks until the smooth custard is made. While still hot, add in chopped chocolate and mix until the chocolate is melted. Once everything is combined and custard smooth, place it in the ice bowl and let it sit for a couple of minutes. Wrap it in plastic and place it in the refrigerator for at least three hours. Note: If the custard is too thick, then you should add some vodka to enhance the taste and make it smoother, and this is the moment when you are adding some optional ingredients like nuts or peanut butter.

Peanut Butter Nuggets

This dessert has its all-proteins, nutrients, it is not baked, contains no sugars, and is prepared in no time. Besides this, it has some of the tastiest ingredients, so you will definitely enjoy the taste combo. Ingredients you will need for this dessert preparation:

  • ½ cup of peanut butter
  • ⅓ cup of rolled oats
  • ¼ cup of unsweetened coconut flakes
  • ¼ cup of nonfat dry milk powder
  • ½ teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • ¼ cup of unsweetened apple juice concentrate
  • ¼ wheat germ

Firstly, in a bowl, combine peanut butter, milk powder, and coconut and slowly mix in the oats, cinnamon, apple juice concentrate, and wheat germ until fully combined. Once you have prepared the mixture, shape them into one-inch balls and chill them before enjoying the taste. This recipe contains some of the most important nutrients, therefore, there are 46 calories; 1.9g of proteins, 17.7g of sodium, 0.2g of cholesterol, 3.8g of carbohydrates, and just 2.9g of fat.

Chocolate Keto Mousse

When your sweet tooth kicks in, this chocolate keto mousse is something that will bring you delight, basically in no time. There is no need for step-by-step preparation, all you need to do is to throw everything in a bowl and whisk it up. For this chocolate delight, you will need:

  • 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder
  • 3 ounces of softened cream cheese
  • ½ of heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup of the powdered zero-calorie sweetener
  • a pinch of salt

Just as we said at the beginning, there is not a huge hassle. Put softened cream cheese in a bowl and use the mixer to beat it until the mixture is light and fluffy. Then, turn the mixer to a low speed and pour heavy cream slowly along with vanilla extract. Once this mixture is smooth, add in sweetener, cocoa powder, and a pinch of salt. When the mixture is nicely combined, turn the mixer to high and mix it for another minute or two until the cream is light, fluffy, and smooth. You are offered two options, to serve it immediately or to cool it down.

There is a whole variety of the different low-calorie and low-carb desserts you can incorporate into your diet and make you much happier. If you have decided to quit sugars, you do not have to quit all small sweet delights.
