Not all Valentine’s Day celebrations have to be 1-on-1 affairs. Having a gathering of friends or spending time with your family are also great ways to enjoy the holiday.
How to Throw a Valentine’s Day Party

We discuss how to throw a Valentine’s Day Party.

Play Games

One way to get everyone together for some quality bonding is with games. While the adults might be content with a Valentine’s Day dinner, the kids might want to do some more exciting activities. You can take out some cards or board games that everyone can enjoy, then watch as the good times ensue. Think about what games your family loves to play and which can accommodate several players, then choose those that overlap for the occasion.

Make Special Foods

No one can deny Valentine’s Day and chocolate go hand in hand. You can play on this by baking some chocolate desserts, such as cupcakes or cookies, which you can set out for people to munch on throughout the evening. Feel free to have fun shaping them into hearts or including reds and pinks in the frosting. You could also pull out all the stops for dinner and make some delicious dishes. Whether it’s something a little fancy like steak or food you know your guests and family will love (your famous orange chicken, maybe?), make the meal special. You might even want to get the hubby involved with the backyard grill.

Decorate Your Home

To really make it feel like a Valentine’s Day party, decorations are essential. Luckily, you can find plenty of easy ways to decorate that are simple to pull off. Put up streamers or balloons around the house to fill it up with festivity, and swap out mundane items for ones that reflect the holiday. For example, you can use heart- or cupid-embellished serving plates and switch the throw pillows on the sofa with Valentine’s-appropriate ones. You can also put up gleaming lights to warm up the living room.
