Everyone has a favorite Tshirt in their closet. You want to make long-lasting and well taken care of because it is not just a piece of clothing; it is a great memory or a fashion statement. Generally speaking, Tshirts are designed to last, especially if they are of high quality, like the ones from TeeJunction. But they do need to be treated with respect to be able to remain rich in color. Besides, the better you care about your clothing, the more of an eco-friendly person you become, and we all know how important it is to live a sustainable life. Here are simple care instructions on how to make your Tshirt the best-looking one out there.

The instructions are there for a reason

The most important thing to do for your Tshirt is to read the washing instructions carefully of your Pediatrics Shirt. Although you know the general rules of taking care of clothes, every Tshirt is a little bit different when it comes to materials, washing temperature and what to do to prevent the graphic from being damaged in the future. Checking the care label is absolutely essential. You can usually find either around the neck area or printed somewhere on the inside of your Tshirt. The labels seem to be irritating to people’s skin sometimes, make sure to take a picture of the Tshirt’s label before you cut it off.

Say goodbye to bleach

Fabric softeners and bleach are your Tshirt’s worst enemies. If you use them, sooner or later, your print will be damaged, especially if it is made with heat transferring printing like a vinyl print, for example. A regular detergent available on the market should be more than enough to keep your Tshirts fresh and clean. You might even want to go for a milder detergent available on the market, better safe than sorry.

Turn it inside out!

Before you put your beloved Tshirt inside a washer, it would be best if you turned it inside out. Doing so will provide a little bit more protection for the graphic, as the print will have less contact with other items you wash. This simple technique will do wonder for the longevity of your Tshirt. Turning clothes inside out, as you do with your jeans, also prevents the color from fading.

Cold wash is the way to go

Your washer must have at least ten different settings, and on top of that, there are a few temperature options to choose from. The question is, which one should you pick for your printed Tshirt? Cold water is always a better option here than warm water. Hot water might cause some damage to the print as well as the colors gradually fading out. Cold water is the only way to go.

Wash similar colors together

Now, this tip is for people that didn’t do much washing during their life. Always sort your clothes by color before you wash them. It is recommended to split your laundry to three basic categories, black, white, and colorful. If you do washings for a group, you might want to expand the number of categories. Also, avoid washing jeans with your Tshirt, the harsher the fabric, the more risk for your Tshirt to get flawed.

Drying with air is good enough

Putting a printed Tshirt in the dryer is considered a crime in many people’s eyes. Doing so is the easiest way to get rid of the beautiful graphic your Tshirt has. As mentioned before, heat is the enemy of prints. You want to dry your Tshirt traditionally, using air. You can also put your wet piece of clothing on a hanger to dry out. It will make it also look better and save you some trouble with ironing. Use the space you have at your apartment, and your favorite Tshirt is worth the effort.

Ironing? Not your problem anymore

Speaking of ironing, let’s talk more in detail about the risk of using an iron on a printed Tshirt. You don’t want to walk around in crumpled clothing; however, ironing a printed Tshirt is not the best idea out there. Once again, it is all about the damage that can be caused by heat. Never iron your print directly, if you have to straighten your Tshirt, turn it inside out and then gently iron. Also, go for low-temperature settings, you don’t want your print to peel. Remember about the hanger drying technique, maybe you won’t need help from iron at all.

Some Tshirts are more special than others, there is no doubt about it, and they need special care. Washing them the right wat is not that hard if you know all the rules. Keep in mind that the time of your precious Tshirt life is a mix between the way you treat it and the quality of materials it is made from. Follow all the tips mentioned above and make your Tshirt as long-lasting and beautiful as possible.
