If you don’t have lots of storage space and have limited living space in your property, you may need to consider using your wall space. In order for you not to have to get rid of any of your belongings, you need to get creative with the space you have! Therefore, we have created a short guide on how to maximize your empty wall space, below.

Hang Pictures and Wall Art

If you have pictures cluttering up space or large canvas art that you haven’t put on your walls yet, hand them up and fill the walls with memories and color. You can even create collages of favorite snippets from magazines or books and put them in a frame to hang on the wall. If you have empty wall space, fill it with positivity and creativity. Not only will this put a smile on your face when you have had a difficult or long day, but they will remind you of different moments in your life too.

Corkboard and Pegboard

Whether you want to organize your shoe collection, hang up coats or any other items that take up too much floor space, a pegboard is ideal. You can even decorate it to make it color-coordinated with the rest of the interior design. This simple design can be really handy if you have unlimited living space in your property.

Corkboards are also perfect for smaller items, such as jewelry, as they don’t weigh as much. You can keep it all together in one place. Alternatively, you could use the corkboard to pin special items, such as a concert ticket that brings back memories, or even pictures of you and your family or friends.

Install Shelves

There is a variety of different types of shelves you can install to make the most of your wall space. Either make them yourself by recycling materials or you can buy them for affordable prices. You can use shelves to store a variety of different things, including books, plants, pictures and whatever you want to display!

Instead, you could get a bookcase for your wall to store all your books on. Not only does this create a feature piece in a room, but it also keeps your books organized. If you need more than one bookcase as you have too many books, install them side by side to keep all the books together.

Consider Implementing A Mirror

If you want to make your living space appear bigger and you want to utilise the empty wall space, you could consider implementing a mirror. This can be used as a focal point in your room and with so many different mirror designs to choose from, they work well in both modern and traditional home interiors. You could add the mirror above the fireplace for a central point in the room, or wherever you think it would work best in your home.

As you can see, there are a number of creative ways that you can maximize your empty wall space. Hopefully, these tips will inspire you to get creative and make your home your own!
