How to Make the Switch to Natural Diapers

by RAKI WRIGHT

If you’re a new parent or a somewhat new parent, or perhaps just have another new addition to the family, you may be looking into the differences in diapers. What types there are, what they’re made of, how they’re made, what happens to them afterward.

It can be easy to get lost in the weeds. You may also be considering making a switch to natural diapers from an alternative, but aren’t sure what the differences are. The good news is that natural diapers are easy to find, easy to size, and a favorite among parents. The push for natural and organic products isn’t a new one, and there are even some misunderstandings when it comes to natural diapers, but the switch is well worth making, for more than one reason.

One of the best parts about making the switch to natural diapers is that the baby won’t notice a thing, making it easy on the parent. In fact, if anything, the baby will be glad you made the choice.

Better for Baby’s Bottom

The parents’ concern is typically first and foremost, their child. This is especially the case when it comes to products and services that directly impact the well being of their baby, diapers included. While you may be wondering how natural diapers will impact the baby’s life and comfort, rest assured that natural diapers are even more comfortable than their alternatives in the marketplace. This is great news for baby’s and parents alike. Natural diapers have great absorption rates and wicking power, which reduces the chance of diaper rash occurring. Additionally, some natural diapers come with reusable tabs, making it easy and convenient to check a diaper, without wasting the whole thing.

Not only are natural diapers absorbent, but they’re also softer than alternative diapers. This gives them a lower chance of irritating other skin conditions that could cause discomfort for the infant.

Natural Diapers and the Environment

While natural disposable diapers may sound like the environmental equivalent of one step forward two steps back, they’ve actually begun to create quite the stir in the community. One of the main driving factors in diaper innovation is sustainability. Brands are continually searching for new ways to become environmentally friendly, reduce waste, and shrink carbon footprints wherever possible. Natural disposable diapers offer a direct way for families to reduce their carbon footprint.

Being manufactured with biodegradable material means that natural diapers are able to decompose. In the regions where burying biodegradable materials is allowable, or even encouraged, this is an immediate way for families to reduce their impact on local landfills. In regions where the natural diapers still end up as a part of the landfill, the biodegradable material still has a chance to decompose, albeit at a much slower rate.

All of that said, though, there are a lot of new and exciting innovations happening in the pursuit of recycling diapers post consumer-use and eventually eliminating them from landfills altogether.

Better for the Budget

Another compelling argument to make for switching to natural diapers is the cost-effective nature of the purchase. While there is often a higher upfront cost with natural diapers, it’s in the quality of the purchase where this value is returned. Natural diapers have a longer duration than most alternatives, and allow the baby to wear them for longer without running the risk of diaper rash.

Additionally, if you’re making the switch from natural cloth diapers to natural disposable diapers, you’ll realize a significant amount of savings in both the time and money spent laundering cloth diapers.

Find a Brand you Trust

Finding a brand you trust and recognize is one of the most important parts of being a parent. This is certainly true when it comes to diapers. It’s one less thing to think about or worry about when you know you can rely on the same brand to deliver top notch, high-quality, natural products with consistency day-in, and day-out.

When it comes to purchasing natural diapers, you want to feel good about the money you’re spending. Not only in that you’re paying for a high quality product that will keep your baby comfortable, and dry; but also that the money being spent is actively contributing to the sustainable movement.

Make the Switch Today

With the recent technology and innovations behind diaper production, natural disposable diapers have quickly emerged as a consumer favorite in the marketplace. This aligns with similar trends seen across a wide variety of industries, indicating a larger overall consumer trend to prefer businesses and companies that stress sustainability in both products and operations.

It’s easy to make the switch to natural diapers from the alternative when you consider all the benefits that natural diapers offer. From environmental sustainability, to being easier on your baby’s bottom (and your budget), natural disposable diapers make sense.
