10 DIY Outdoor String Lighting Ideas

To make your backyard, patio or any outdoor area look magical and beautiful at night, consider hanging string lights.

There are lots of different outdoor string lights to choose from and lots of ways to do it. Have a look at the different ideas, adapt them and get ready to transform your outdoors.

Diy Ideas

Simple Overhang- Placing the string lights on poles is a cool way to display them. You can create a nice and pleasant Ambience by using them and at the same time you light up the space. It is a permanent and fixed solution as the post can be inserted into the ground but if you want something more interesting and prettier, you can make some boxes like planters.

Big Tree As A Base- If there is a beautiful tree in your yard it could be decorated with string lights. One of its branches can be turned into an actual light fixture and a small table with some chairs can be placed underneath to take full advantage of the ambiance.

Back Patio Glow- To decorate a covered deck or a patio with string lights is easy. Wrap lights around the poles and also hang them from the roof or the walls. Hanging string lights outside the house can really change its look.

Light Up The Fire Pit – If you want to go for a more organic look, a cool idea is to use tree trunk or branches as posts for the string lights. Secure each post to a sturdy concrete base and arrange all of them in a circular pattern around a fire pit, leave room for some seating and furniture.

Classic Style- A classic style with 15 incandescent light bulbs of 11 watts on a stand, 48 feet long. They are durable and waterproof and are an excellent choice for outdoor areas.

Solar Power- If you don’t want to worry about any cables and outlets then go for solar-powered string lights. A solar panel can be installed on the roof using a clip for inserting it in the ground that takes 6 hours to charge and last for 8 hours, are waterproof and withstand rain and winds so are suitable for a variety of climates. They are easy to install and should be facing the sun and are secure.

Light Sensor- A built-in light sensor is another cool feature that turns the light on automatically when it is dark and keeps them off at daytime.

Fairy Lights- They are also special and used in a lot of Creative ways. It can be placed inside jars to make lanterns or used to decorate various items and spaces. They are solar-powered and excellent for outdoor use. They turn on automatically at night and are flexible allowing to twist and mold them in many shapes.

A Glowing Garden- English Ivy, pachysandra and other dense, sturdy plants are best for putting lights in your garden. Incandescent string lights give your garden a lovely glow. outdoor string lights Australia is a booming and popular party option.
