There is no place like home. Imagine returning home from a long, tiring day at work, or from a long business trip; you would expect to find a peaceful welcoming place to embrace you.

If you feel that your home is not homely at all, you would wish to return back to where you came from. If this is the case for you, why not try spicing things up; make your abode more habitable and welcoming by using the 5 tips we provided below.

Hang Art

Homes have long since been a place where you hang pictures of loved ones. Why not try adding beautiful, creative artwork home? Purchase new frames that complement the color palette of your home. As for artwork, we all know how expensive authentic art pieces can cost. Why not opt for digitally printed work on canvas? Go to https://365canvas.com/ and search artwork that suits your liking or that would complement your home. Remember, you can choose any artwork or any picture of your liking and have it digitally printed on canvas for a low cost.

Maintain Cleanliness

No one wants to live in a pigsty; a clean home is a healthy home. Always make sure that you do the laundry on time, you clean the dishes right after a meal (no one wants a huge pile to do once a week), use disinfecting wipes to wipe faucets and sinks clean, make sure to remove hair from the bathroom sinks, mop and broom floors, cut the grass, and whatever else that can make your home look clean and kempt.

Incorporate Nature

Why not try to add indoor plants to your home? Greenery is associated with nature and serenity, and this can surely make your abode a soothing and relaxing feel. Try to purchase indoor plants such as African violets, Chinese Evergreens, Peace Lily, Snake Plant, etc. You can even purchase some vases and add flowers to them like roses, tulips, sunflowers, etc. These can go a long way in improving the overall look of your home and even improve the aroma.

Repaint & Refurnish

If you feel your walls and furniture don’t complement one another, or they just give a not-so-homely appearance, then it’s time to renovate. Get the help of a designer to select a nice warm or cool tone to paint the home. Ensure that the color of the furniture is one that complements the tone of the paint on the walls. You can choose different paint colors for different rooms.

Improve the Aroma

What’s better than a home that smells like home? Purchase incense or candles of your liking and improve the smell of your home. Make sure to clean out air filters, and anything else that can have a negative effect on the aroma of your home. Try baking or cooking up nice meals to further improve the smell as well; the olfactory sense is the strongest sense in humans, and your children are sure to remember the scent of their home if they come across a similar smell in the future. This will certainly make them nostalgic.
