Updating your home’s exterior doesn’t have to be expensive. Check out these five great ways to give your home the ultimate reboot.update-home-exterior

When you’ve lived in the same place for years, maybe even decades, you can begin to neglect it a little. Things break and are left unrepaired. Paint might flake a little. The garden can become overgrown. Everything, in general, gets worn down and ignored or forgotten.

Who can blame you? You’ve got endless other things to be focusing on. But your home is your safe place and deserves to be treated as such. So right about now might be the time you start considering a freshen up. Here’s how to go about refreshing up your home’s exterior.

1. Siding

Siding is so important for your home. It’s what protects it from the elements. According to Home Garden Guides, different types of siding last better than others. So the type of siding and the way you maintain it will contribute to the overall look of your home. If you completely neglect this, the exterior of your home will show the signs of wear and tear as a result. Try out a company such as Tulsa Renew.

Companies like this are specific and picky. They only use the best, quality materials. They will also get the job done to perfection and leave the site they’ve worked on impeccable.

2. Exterior Paint

The exterior of your home matters just as much as the interior. You want to see something lovely as you pull up after work each day. It’s also what the rest of the world get to see of your home too.

Make sure that your exterior paint job is up to par. Again, I would recommend bringing in professional exterior painters to top up the paint. They’ll be able to do a better job of it than you could imagine.

3. Garden

Your front and back gardens may get neglected the most. Especially in colder months. Who wants to head out pulling weeds and cutting the grass when it’s miserable and cold outside? However, you shouldn’t let it run wild. It’s important to have a neat, clean garden . But also for safety.

If you have children or pets, you need to be able to see that there isn’t anything dangerous in there. Long grass can conceal potential hazards. Get the lawnmower out every two to three weeks to maintain a neat, even cut. Trim bushes and hedges. Make sure that your patio is even and safe to walk on and that there aren’t any gaps or holes in the fences.

4. Outdoor Lighting

Many of us have lights that turn on upon motion outside. They’re usually set off by cats and other stray animals. The battery or light bulb goes out often, we just don’t replace them.

Brush the cobwebs off the light and replace the bulb. This is an important safety feature of your home and should be maintained accordingly.

5. Sheds

You can safely store everything in there that you don’t necessarily want indoors. But they get run down by wind and rain.

So freshen the paint and make sure that the locks are still working and secure. Repair any holes in the roof to avoid your belongings becoming wet or rusty.
