5 Savvy Tips To Take Care Of Your Canvas Wall Art In Bedroom

by RAKI WRIGHT

If you have canvas wall art in your bedroom, you may find its maintenance challenging. What’s worse is that if you attempt cleaning it without fully understanding the intricacies of the task, you might instead ruin it.

To save your canvas from trouble, we have created a list of five tips that will help you take care of your wall art the right way. Also, following these tips will help you keep your artwork looking fresh and new for a long time.

Tip 1: Protect Your Wall Art From Direct Sunlight

To keep your Large Abstract Wall Art looking its best, here’s a simple tip: avoid hanging it where it gets direct sunlight for too long. A well-lit area can enhance the colors of your artwork, but continuous exposure to direct sunlight can make the print fade over time.

Therefore, even if it has a protective coating against sun rays, keeping the canvas painting away from direct sunlight is vital.

Tip 2: Gently Dust It, Instead Of Rubbing It

When your canvas print in your home gathers dust and cobwebs, it’s important to clean it gently. Instead of rubbing it with your fingers or nails, which can cause scratches, opt for a feather duster to lightly wipe the surface. You can also use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to deep clean.

Remember to move the cloth in circular motions and avoid using too much water that may drip onto the print.

Tip 3: Hang In A Cool And Dry Place

It’s important to hang them in a cool and dry place to ensure the longevity of your canvas paintings. Avoid areas prone to heat and humidity, such as kitchens, bathrooms, and basements. These conditions can cause the canvas to expand or shrink and promote mold growth, damaging the artwork.

You can choose a location with good air circulation to keep your canvas clean and dry. Thus, it reduces the chances of heat and humidity and prevents canvas art prints from fading and damaging.

Tip 4: Avoid Chemical Cleaners When Cleaning

Please do not use chemical-based cleaners if you cannot clean dirt or grime off your canvas print with a damp cloth. These cleaners can harm the UV coating on your canvas and even remove the ink. Also, once chemicals get into the canvas, removing them without damaging the print is hard or impossible.

In this case, the best way is to get help from a professional cleaner. You can visit your local art store with your Large Abstract Wall Art and inquire about canvas cleaning services. They have the training and professional tools to clean your print without causing any harm.

Tip 5: Store With Acid-Free Paper Storage

If you need to store your canvas print, whether for rotating your wall decor, updating your home, or moving, follow these steps:

  • Firstly, wrap your print in acid-free paper or a similar acid-free material. This protective covering will prevent scratches and keep your canvas from yellowing as time goes by.
  • Secondly, find a cool and dry area for storage. Avoid places with high humidity or extreme temperatures, as they can cause your canvas to stretch or loosen over time.

Enjoy Your Canvas Wall Art in the Bedroom!

These tips will help you clean and protect your canvas print. As you can see, it’s a relatively easy task to do. But, for the best results, applying these tips will ensure the longevity of your wall art and enjoy the beauty of your Canvas Wall Art in your bedroom for many years.
