Decorating your room is an exciting part for many people. But the problem is – not everyone is allowed to do anything in their room. Dorm residents have a few rules that they need to follow while decorating their living space. You can’t just make a hole in the wall and hang whatever you like. You can’t just paint your room with any color. So, is there still a choice to spruce up your room without damaging the walls or drilling holes in them? Obviously, there is.

You can express yourself with room decoration keeping certain things in mind. Want to know what those are? Keep reading to find all the answers.

Understand the dorm rules

f you reside in a dorm and want to decorate your room with personal touches, you need to keep some rules in mind. Every dormitory has some rules for its residents. Some dormitories are lenient. If you are lucky to live in such a dormitory, it will be easy for you. If not, you don’t have to worry. You can adopt some wall art strategies that even the strictest dorm won’t disallow you. For instance – sunset on canvas and some nature paintings. So, get ready to wow your dorm with the exclusive wall paintings and transform your room.

What is your room situation?

It means whether you are living alone in your room or sharing it with other people. It is easy to adorn the room with paintings if you live alone. But even if you live with roommates, you don’t need to keep your decoration plans at bay. Just have a discussion with your roommates about what types of paintings are acceptable to all of them, and let the fun begin. They won’t restrict you from hanging pictures of your friends or family. Don’t forget to do the same for them if they ask for your help in return.

Research thoroughly

Research thoroughly about the topic of how you can decorate your room without any damage to the walls. You can read plenty of articles on the internet for supreme décor advice. You can consider adding dining room canvas art to your room. You can also find practical hangers in many stores that provide you with ease in hanging the art.

Inculcating putty in the decoration

Do you know the secret to a successful and damage-free room decoration? The answer is putty. It is easy to apply and remove if you want to hang lightweight items like photo posters. This keeps the worry of nails damaging the walls at bay. In the end, you won’t be facing any problems with the dorm authorities. Besides, you can also buy special hanging strips or double-sided tape for hanging lightweight items. Large wall painting requires more effort. So, choose the things wisely that you want to inculcate in the decoration.

To make a long story short.

Choose the beautiful, creative, lightweight wall art for your dorm room and let everyone applaud your creative skills.
