These days, more and more people are opting to stay home for dinner, instead of heading out to a nice restaurant. The main reason for this is, of course, the pandemic – it’s simply much safer to stay home, and people don’t want to take the risk of going to a restaurant.

Another reason for staying home is that it costs you much less than a night out. However, there are downsides to this. It can get quite boring to eat the same meals over and over again, and what do you do if there’s a special occasion you want to celebrate? Luckily, we have the answer: you make one of the four delicious dishes we’ll be talking about in this post. These dishes can easily be made at home but will taste like they’ve come straight out of a restaurant’s kitchen.

Wagyu steak

Anyone can make a steak, but if you really want to treat your loved ones to a restaurant-worthy meal, you’re going to have to go above and beyond. Your normal cut of steak won’t do it. We recommend trying your hand at making Wagyu steak. This may be slightly pricier than other steaks, but once you sink your teeth into it, it will all be worth it. Next time your family is craving a steak dinner, surprise them by making a Wagyu coulotte.

Sushi

Sushi is one dish that many people would never try at home. In reality, sushi isn’t that hard to make, if you have the right products. Sure, your rolls may not look at pleasing as those you’d find at a sushi restaurant, but we’re willing to bet that they’d still taste pretty great. This is also a fun meal for the whole family to make together and bond over. So, grab your ingredients and your sushi-making essentials, and get started!

Tacos

Tacos are a family favorite, and they’re so easy to make! There’s really no reason for you to go to a restaurant for tacos if you can simply whip them up at home. Tacos are also great for fussy eaters because you can have each person in your family build their taco and fill it with things they like. If you’re bored of creating the same tacos time and time again, there are plenty of creative and delicious taco recipes out there.

Curries

Is there anything better than a nice, spicy curry on a cold day? We think not. Curries can be intimidating for a lot of people, simply because of the number of spices that go into making a good curry. In truth, it’s a good idea to learn to make curries, since they’re such a versatile dish. There are loads of delicious curries out there, and you can adjust their heat levels to suit your tastes. There are also different ways of making curries – Thai curries vary quite drastically from Indian curries. You can easily replicate a restaurant-worthy curry in the comfort of your own home. If you need a place to start, click here for a guide to different types of Indian curries. I’ve also got a list of 30 Spicy, Rich, and Flavorful Instant Pot Indian Recipes to try.
