Mother’s Day gifts can get expensive. But, you don’t have to have a large budget to show your mom your love. In fact, you don’t have to spend a dime.

Mother's Day gifts can get expensive. But, you don't have to have a large budget to show your mom your love. In fact, you don't have to spend a dime.

I know that traditionally kids exhibit their love for mom with chocolates, flowers, or a day of pampering. But, sometimes even an extra $20 can be hard to come by. With a little creativity, you can show your love and appreciation without pulling out your wallet.

Here is a list of Mother’s Day gifts:

  1. Make her breakfast.
  2. Cook her dinner.
  3. Perform one of her chores.
  4. Write her an appreciation note.
  5. Leave a love note in her lunchbox.
  6. Give her a massage.
  7. Relinquish control of the remote to her.
  8. Burn a CD of your favorite songs (as a family).
  9. Draw a bubble bath for her.
  10. Create a photo collage of special moments in your relationship for her.
  11. Arrange time off for her without the kids.
  12. Walk around your neighborhood, downtown, or park together.
  13. Take her on a nostalgic drive.
  14. Wash her car.
  15. Sing, play, or write a song (depending on your talent) for her.
  16. Go stargazing.
  17. Read poetry to her.
  18. Watch a movie (by whatever means you have that wouldn’t cost you any money i.e. library, Netflix, cable, regular TV, internet, etc.).
  19. Prepare a special dessert for her.
  20. Download a free e-book for her.
  21. Tell her all of the ways you’re happy she’s your mom (or why she’s a great mom).
  22. Set up a relaxing environment (candles, dim light, soothing music, or whatever works for her).
  23. Brew coffee for her.
  24. Agree to dress the kids for school, if that’s not something you usually handle.
  25. Get the kids to school (whether by bus or car).

Have you ever had to be creative with a non-existent Mother’s Day budget?
